There's something authentic about the love-stricken madness of Ice King and Candy Queen; it's the one remnant of Simon's humanity that could resist the crown. That's why this chaotic-ass song feels more genuine and beautiful than the polished hollowness of the Winter King's song from earlier; there's no Simon left in the Winter King, he rid himself of his soul and his goodness when he rid himself of his madness. Simon relates to the Queen the same way we related to HIM when he wore the crown.

Cool thing about the crown is that it sorta takes bits of personality from the people that have worn it. All crown wearers will eventually have a Gunther, or (after Simon) would look for princesses. An considering that Santa was once a crown wearer, I wouldn’t doubt that Ice King’s subconscious gave him that very particular outfit in Holly Jolly Secrets…

Doubt that's the implication. Ice King himself created a bride from stitching together pieces of other princesses. They aren't exactly of sound mind. Plus, why would it take her a hundred years to go as far as killing him if that were the case?

Like this is just the best solution her madness addled mind could come up with. "The key ingredient is you." Like her whole song could be interpreted as her trying to find some kind of equilibrium again. It could work in the same way that Ice King's princess infatuation was a manifestation of his love for Betty?

I'm almost certain their personalities were (pretty much) completely swapped for sure. There's quite a bit, other than the whole "sanity" and "wants to marry royalty" part, like the fact that the winter king had a lab and was shown to have created subjects (the twins, all the people in the winter kingdom, marceline, etc) and the candy queen had certain things like wanting to create a castle in the mountains and her general polarity (such as saying "hi bunny girl!" while she's in the process of nearly killing two people, similar to how the ice king would act completely crazy one moment and be completely fine randomly to some other person) gives me this exact feeling too.

So it makes the Candy Queen act out this way to achieve that goal of rejoining. Thus the crazy plot of blending them together in an actual blender.

If we think WK was the same as Simon then probably in a lucid moment he realize most of his crazyness came from his loved from betty his need to search princess and all that came from that love he had from betty, somehow he passed that obsession to PB and thats why he doesn't feel anything about Betty and PB is in love with him

I mean it's not far fetched that both Bonnie and Simon wanted to be with others. The candy queen was part of the mother gum and missed the connection with others, given that she and Marcaline weren't talking and the crowns madness, it makes sense that she still desires to be surrounded by people.

I don’t think the madness actually made her more powerful, it just made her no longer hold back her power. All the stuff she does here is pretty standard fare for PB in the main Ooo, it’s just that PB is very selective with how she uses her power. PB is always thinking and logic-ing about what she should be doing, whereas Candy Queen is just completely insane. If she did get supercharged, she’d probably turn into some sort of Orgalorg-esque lovecraftian world eater, with all the desire to spread and none of the “benevolence” and peace-loving attitude normal supercharged PB had. Either that or the spell would be dispelled by the intense elemental magic altogether.

I mean Simon's in the deepest pits of depression. Man was literally willing to let himself die by episode 3 during a drunken stupor, and his whole "becoming Ice King again" plan is eerily similar to wanting a form of identity death. Simon's a kind soul but he's ironically in a very similar position that Ice King was where he's forever separated from the person he loved, and is ostracized by the people around him (this time due to not fitting in even with other humans, and his loved ones being too busy with their lives to notice his pain, and everyone just comparing him to Ice King due to the Fionna and Cake books). 12 years of that could make anyone bitter and angry. That said, his wish to become Ice King again is both self-destructive AND a twisted form of selflessness due to wanting to give Fionna's world its magic back (and give everyone the Ice King they love so much). However, I don't think it will work out that way because I think the trajectory of Fionna's arc is her learning to be less selfish, and actually become a true hero like her counterparts. Our Finn had to learn to face his own selfishness and manipulative tendencies too, but he was always a kindhearted person who wanted to help people, even if he was a bit of a blood knight with violent tendencies, whereas Fionna is so ground down by the duldrums of life that she's become rather myopic and when given the chance to have adventures, she ignores nuance and the impact of her actions (again, something Finn had to learn) and can be rather insensitive. So I think her arc might culminate with her learning to sincerely value Simon (rather than just seeing him as a sad sack), and start feeling conflicted over letting him go to get Ice King (and magic in her world) back, and might decide it's not worth it. And Simon's arc could be about him finding new purpose and find value in himself outside of Ice King and outside of Betty; cause they're gone and he's still here and he's worth something, even if other people, and even he can't see it.

i think the fact he even considered/is allowing himself to go into a dark pit once again with the crown, just for two people he barely even knows can go back home into his literal head, really shows how selfless and good of a person he is

It might have been to dangerous a place for them so young and they lived somewhere completely different. The candy citizens being crazed and so numerous

@@nathanoliva2484 I once saw a theory that, since the crown swap happened around 100 years prior. That is far longer than Finn/Jake had been alive for. And so, from their perspective, nothing was wrong. Winter King was the nice ruler who had the region under control, while Candy Queen was a harmless nuisence at worst (since according to WK, the blender thing was a rather steep escalation of what she usually did) And so, with the region so peaceful and in "good" hands, the two likely moved to a different place, where they could have adventures.

I wanted a continuation of Farm world but never got one :(
