My favorite part about the "Mama Said" bit is that the episode is named after it, the entire rest of the episode involves something entirely different, and then this happens in the last like 1-2 minutes

yeah the show got a lot less whimsical and much more nuanced in the later seasons, in part to do with it simply maturing as finn got older. my friends who were really into AT as teenagers when it was airing remember dropping it around S5 once the change hit.
