I love it that they released the DVD Box set for this one when they released the Blu-ray box set 6 years ago

That Adventure Time Blu-Ray set sells for hundreds now, unfortunately. The distributor for that release, Madman, lost their CN licensing deal or something a couple years back so now all their CN releases are out of print and hard to find. I personally look look up sets on eBay from time to time just because sellers will sometimes reasonably price them despite their rarity. I've got the Summer Camp Island DVD set as well as the OK K.O.: Let's Be Heroes set. I hope to one day come across that Blu-Ray set for a reasonable price. I remember thinking I'd buy it later when that set was still available on Amazon. Ever since then I've had major FOMO anxiety.

You gotta wait for them to make a Blu-ray almost any show. They’re allergic to Blu-ray for even their most popular shows.

I prefer the original box set. Much cooler. I just used clamp cases for the disks.

It's hard to find a brown version that isn't a bootleg. If you just want the show, then buy the basic green version.

That og set is very nice. I would get that one if I can find it. The artwork is awesome. The story book like set is very cool. The pop up in the center fold is nice. I would take a bluray version of the same set.

I'm not a big fan of the packaging style of that green case, since it's easy to damage the discs (on my copy of the Next 100 Episodes of SpongeBob, disc 12 has cracks in the middle because the slot for that disc is a bit tighter than usual - and that disc has It's a SpongeBob Christmas...). Also, the box art for the Adventure Time set is based off the Enchiridion, a book from the show - a book which is brown, not green, so I'm not sure why they changed the color for the re-release.

@@SilverShine-tr5krye it makes sense changing the color so people won't be like i bought the og set but this isn't the book ik some people some how didn't get the pop up included

I assume it's just cheaper to manufacture them in a plastic case than to go the extra mile to recreate the book casing. Too bad folks who buy the reprint set won't get to see all the beautiful artwork on each page as well as the pop-up segment in the middle. At the very least they're getting all the media, just not the fine craftsmanship (besides the questionable disc sleeves) of the original run of this set. I'm glad to have gotten the first pressing of this set before they switched to this cheap, disappointing variant.

Hey there. Beautiful sets. I have question. Have you the extras disc on both to see if they're identical? Are the disc menus the same on both sets?

They're identical the packaging is the main difference and the disc on the 2nd are color coded instead of 1 color on alot and the extra disc is the same

@@flybuttero Thank you! Personally I own the complete Blu-ray set (only released in Australia). But the first DVD set is so beautiful that I want to get that too. Also the Blu-rays are missing Diamonds and Lemons which is a bummer.

Yeah if anybody really wants to collect these I go for the original season sets because then you don't have to deal with the bullshit Packaging just the slipcovers maybe screwing up every once in awhile

That old set was cool and all, but I just hate that style of disc packaging. The first one I bought had light scratches on a few of the discs, I then exchanged it for a new one which still wasn’t perfect🫤. It is what it is, I guess 🤷♂️
