Northern Thailand jungle adventures.
In this episode, our traveling family goes deep into the jungle around Cave Lod.
To begin the journey we take a 4 hour bus ride from Chiang Mai towards Mae Hon Son. We stop in the little town of Sappong (Sop Pong) a couple hours past Pai.
We have a delicious northern Thai meal, before we continue our trip to Cave Lodge.
The first thing after checking out our room at the lodge is to go swimming at the river Lang.
The next day we go white water kayaking into Lod Cave, we take the opportunity to explore this beautiful cave. We also go down 2 big falls.
The next day Javier goes on a jungle trek to a Karen Village and learns about jungle survival and tries a bunch of plants that grow wild in the forest.
We, then, prepare for the Lantern festival by making boats out of bamboo and lighting a candle before setting them down river once the full moon is out.
That evening we go visit the swift and bat show as the come in and out of the cave entry at sunset time.
To finish the episode we go for a traditional Shan food at the local Tuesday market.
