PIKE EAT PIKE?! Lure Fishing with an ULTRA-REALISTIC pike lure

Lure fishing for pike using the BIGGEST and most REALISTIC replicant pike lure I've had. I'm using this very heavy lure on the Lancaster canal, and I'm aiming to see if it picks out the really big pike on the stretch, and to see if even the small pike go for it. I was joined soon after starting fishing by my mate Sydney who was using a much smaller roach pattern Rapala.
Having so much fun with the extra heavy set up at the moment, and I have lures considerably bigger than this one to use over winter. If you enjoy this video please don't forget to like and subscribe it really helps the channel!

Great result in the end but oh my... the lost fish at the start ! Always worth dropping the bag off and getting the net ready before that first cast, total focus if you hook up with no messing about buddy. ATB MMMD

Cracking vid mate great catch with the new lure, was that fish with the damage recent or old from when it was younger, cos if it was recent that would be a great fish to target. Tight lines mate

Thanks mate I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I'm not too sure how recent the damage was on that pike. Looking at it I would say it isn't fresh but also probably hasn't been there for years!

I last went pike fishing when I was 15 so late 70s. I was roach fishing and caught a tiny pike on a maggot. As I reeled in the mini pike , a jack pike of about 3lb snapped up the tiny pike. I nearly netted it but it cut the line and I lost both. Happy days.

New subscriber here, that's the size of bait I use for muskie here in Ontario Canada. And much larger, they realy make realistic looking lures these days. Great video though.

'ow do, fellah. How many clubs/associations do you have to join to fish the Lancaster canal? It's pretty close to me and I would like to give it a go; I am based in Kendal so maybe down to Lancaster would do me. Many thanks and tight lines.

Different stretches are run by different clubs mate. Pike anglers club have the main stretch from preston to hest bank then north is split between kendal and bls

I haven't done much predator fishing but would you have much success fishing for Zander with that lure ?

I’ve never fished for zander mate unfortunately there aren’t any where I live! I’d say this would be too big though based on what I’ve seen

Ya never no buddy there might be a monster zander out there that will nail it but usually zander like small to medium lures

Think it was on a website called fishdeal mate but I can't remember exactly sorry! If you search the name of the rod you'll probably find a supplier in the US. Its a Diana prolix XR 80-180 gram 2.03m I think Hope this helps!

@@adventurefishinguk I carry a far bigger net, with a metal pole (to reach down the banks of rivers) & it maybe a drag but I just put it down on the bank before I start casting in that swm, Still miss landing the occasional fish but not because my net isn't ready.

When you walk for hours and hours it’s much easier to have the net folded away mate! I know it results in a few more fish getting off but for lure fishing it’s so much easier 👍 not saying it’s the best way to do it but it’s my preference!
