Fishing using GOLDFISH as bait, and the fish absolutely loved it! Now this is one very different and interesting way of catching pike, and I have to say it worked as well as I expected it to if not better. I know some people might not agree with this or have some objections because goldfish are common pets, but I can assure you this was a frozen pack from the same brand as all the other baits you see in the shop and not a pets at home/carnival job 😂. I get most of my pike baits from Gerrys in Morecambe, i'd highly recommend you check it out if you need a stock up on anything. A great shop with a great selection of dead-baiting gear.

Great video a little tip is to youse bait elastic it keeps the bait on better and you tend to hook the fish easier as the elastic keeps the hooks in place when casting etc give it ago you will see a big difference 👌

Great video mate and we used to use gold fish for live baiting with on the local pools when I was kid and used to have some great sport and your future fishing partner is coming on nice and won't be that long before his wanting to come and play

Fair play I didn't think you would catch on the goldfish but Hay they were some good size pike!!! You mentioned the hook size & compared to the size of the gold fish they did look a bit small, maybe that's why some fish come off. As always a great video & look forward to your next one. Dude that last fish looked way more than 3-4 lb... Bound to be atleast 5-6 instead maybe even upper 6,, but camera adds a few lbs as they say 😎👍

I think there could be a big one that comes and goes, it would make sense and looks like the sort of place to hold one. Nothing I’ve had though! We would never see this up here. Northern Pike here in Canada, will take a bait 2/3 it's own body length. That was a heck of a wound on that fish,!! 😯

In the US only 15 states can use live goldfish… and 3 allow the use of dead goldfish. We have a goldfish problem here.😂

Now then George. Another great video and I’ve seen you ( & Harry ). fishing that spot a few times now …always comes up trumps for you and look a nice spot. Something I’ve never done that … dead baiting that is … them were some size goldfish. I remember catching a goldfish of 2 1/2 pounds about 30 years ago in a place called Hemlington lake in Teeside…. I think I caught the back of a mk 2 escort as well as the Lake was full of all sorts of stuff back in the day. Well done though buddy and some nice fish. 👍😁🎣

Interesting video George. I hope you don,t mind me commenting on the Goldfish bait but it looks a bit soft me. I do a bit of Pike fishing but Bass are my main interest and when I,m using big baits for either of these two species I use elasticated cotton. It doesn,t seem to put them off. Anyway thats my thoughts for what they are worth. Nice to see your little lad. Best wishes and look forward to your next video. Gordon.

Just looked at your website, looks good pretty plain not to complicated with loads going on, you need hoodie jumper aswell, seen the zip up one but pull over with nice pic on the back would be good especially over winter

Would have been surprised if the gold fish did't catch anything. Famous Dutch fisherman Daniël Weijers caught multiple pike (actively) with a rigged banana peel. Yes, a banana peel. 😅

We underestimate pikes mouths a 6 lb pike would probably be able to swallow that goldfish no probs.

I think these pike are trying to bait you hehe, nice vid mate, ive never bothered dead baiting, mainly because i don't want to handle a big pike haha. There's some in the canal near me, i saw one that im still shocked about, it's head was around a foot long, way too big.

I saw a massive monsterpike (25 pounds+ perhaps) in a local stocked rainbow trout lake swimming alongside the shore waiting for the food to arrive. I casted right beside her and got so much adrenaline i almost stopped reeling in out of fear 😅 However after casting near the monsterpike a few times I noticed through the clear water she only thought of my 2 inch trout lures as a nuisance and wanted some juicy 18 inch trout instead... lucky her they stocked that lake just hours after that encounter with several hundred pounds of trout. Only lures and flies allowed on that lake though so can't even attempt with deadbaits 😢

It’s ok chucking in a goldfish around there pike will destroy them but those folks that release them into places that they have no predators they totally ruin the fish ecosystem of ponds as they’re prolific breeders. Good vid goldfish should be bait or pets..

Nice video Thank you. And thanks for revealing your cunning plan to influence how we dress while we fish. Us old gadgies have acquired £100's of quids worth of 'performance' clothing so we look like fishermen and you're trying to rewrite the rule book with bobble hats n'that. It might just catch on, who knows? Anyhow, my final thought is that whilst I'll be dead soon enough, at least I'll be dry.

I don't know if any else said so but it looks like prop damage on that pike... 🤔 I think the goldfish was a bit too big of a bait unless theres a 20 pounder in there... but you prevailed , mate !!😕 I was out yesterday myself and had a 10lbs & a 14lbs-6oz. .... a good start to the pike season... I'm planning on another session tomorrow on another venue. My favourite bait is lamprey but as its gotten so spendy so I also use a lotta mackerel.. My PB is 28lbs & at 65y.o. , I might struggle to break that before I go "off-planet" 😕😂 Especially as our pike stocks are being decimated by eastern europeans who eat everything they catch & use unattended set-lines . Have a sub & a like , mate... 🤗 From the Emerald Isle 😎👍☘️🍺

@@adventurefishinguk I'm wondering that since the Carp HPV outbreaks and non native infestations like red claw crayfish top mouth gudgeon bitterling ect . I used to sell a lot of my own strain of goldfish but now it's illegal for pet shops to buy them . My best bet is cull fish from commercial breeders .

my grandad bought a field with a river attached. i’ve fished it since a baby snd only ever caught on maggots, (float snd feeder)(trout and greyling) i’m 99.9% sure you wont catch anything on a lure/ spinner in there
