I grew up in Chicago but moved to Cleveland for school and ended up LOVING the city and staying; a huge part of that decision was the parks. There’s something so special about living in an area with easy access to some beautiful nature with a well-managed park system. While it may not be Canyonlands or the Tetons, it’s a beautiful representation of nature reclaiming industrial land and a wonderful resource for the community.

This was such a fun video. Awesome way to explore the park. Glad you decided stop at CVNP and also glad you enjoyed your visit. This park gets a lot of flak but I have enjoyed my time here on every visit. Each park is unique and has something to offer. This was my home park for the longest time but I never visited it once. I grew up about an hour west of Cleveland and moved away after college. It wasn’t until I moved away that I began to visit it. This park is also the site of our first hike as a family back in 2016, Stanford House to Brandywine Falls. We still hike a lot, so I guess it was a wise choice. I am sure a million people suggested to you that you have to go to Hocking Hills. If you like this park, Hocking Hills easily surpasses CVNP. Hocking Hills has some discontiguous units besides the main park that are worth a visit too. Conkles Hollow, Rock House, and Cantwell Cliffs. Hope you get there some day.

I grew up not too far from Cuyahoga Valley NP! The best time to do the ledges is after a snowfall. We shopped at Szalays all the time...still do! the history here is really cool ,and the indian artifacts found here are incredible. I'm glad you got to learn a bit about it. the train is a great way to see the valley. We kayak the river from Pennisula to Boston, or the old Jaite Paper Mill at Highland Rd, even to Brecksville bridge. Loved this video. Last May's vacation included a few days at Cuyahoga Valley NP. We enjoyed Brandywine Falls (falls were much broader due to spring rain) & hiking through the Ledges. We rented e-bikes from Century Cycles. It was our first time on e-bikes, and we loved it. We, too, had snacks and a rest at Indigo Lake. However, we had to turn around and bike north at the train station since the train does not permit e-bikes, which resulted in sore rumps. Had a lovely late lunch on a patio in Peninsula. Perfection. Thank you for sharing.

This was wonderfully done. Watching your video through Cuyahoga National Park brings so many memories. This is where I met my partner back in 2008. Many times, you brought tears in my eyes, since I could feel my own presence there with my partner. She lived in Cuyahoga Falls. We always bought corn at Szaley's Farm. They have corn ready for July 4th. Hale farm and village near Indigo Lake and Everett Covered Bridge are very nice places too. I'm Canadian and I'll miss this place. Cuyahoga National Park is definately a hidden gem. Your video was posted September 27, 2021, and I knew exactly what I was doing that day although I probably would know what I did the day you filmed this. It's amazing how much you remember the near past when your love passes away. She passed away Jan 2022. Thank you to both of you for sharing this video with everyone here and especially for me.

I'm glad you stopped in Ohio! We may not have the most stunning landscapes, but I really do think our park system is underrated here in Northeast Ohio! There's a ton of smaller "reservations" with great hiking and scenery in most towns near Cleveland. Most people assume Ohio's just flat cornfields, but there's quite a lot of hiking to do here. There's not many places in the Midwest with so many good hiking opportunities so close to the city!

Another great 👍 adventure loved you could take Kona and hike with your dog. Then renting the bikes for a snack at the lake then riding the train back with your bike was too cool. I have 7 grandkids who love all that stuff. We are 5hrs away from there so it would be a fun weekend trip. Thanks guys for another hidden 💎 gem.

I saw your cover photo and was like 'Cuyahoga... I know this - but why?' then you explained it's a National Park! The ledges trail was beautiful, I'm researching the Peak District at the moment and it looks a lot like a trail called Lud's Church over here! I 100% would have done what you did and combo-ed the bike and train. Your trains look so different to ours though!! The video was a bit shorter than your usual ones, but I thoroughly enjoyed this... I really want to visit Cuyahoga now! ❤... and for what it's worth, it's 'tom-aaah-toe' *nods*

WOW, Lud's Church looks AWESOME! Just saved it to AllTrails for when we finally make it back that way! We've been making slightly shorter videos lately, mostly because we are trying to do less each day so we can have more balance and also not be so stressed out while filming. It has sort of helped lol! And we will practice saying tom-aaah-toe for when we get our next full English Breakfast!

I hope you go back and visit it again someday! If you do, visit Plateau Trail, the Everett Covered Bridge area, and go up north and check out the Station Bridge, Tinkers Creek Gorge, Bridal Veil Falls, and Great Falls. If you're up at the north end of the park during the main season, you can visit the Canal Exploration Center. It's really a two-day visit park; three, if you use one of your days to either do the scenic train or kayak the river.
