Thanks for bringing back some fond memories of my greatest road trip ever. i drove from Chicago to Fairbanks in 1993, leaving late in the season on Aug. 6th. I headed up through Minneapolis, North Dakota, Glacier/Waterton NP, Banff, Jasper, and Hinton. (The Columbia Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Banff has some of the most stunning mountain scenery in all of North America-it's a "must see!") It was good to see Muncho Lake and Liard Hot Springs again. I detoured into Skagway to ride the White Pass & Yukon Railroad and then headed to Fairbanks. I spent about 5 days in and around Denali National Park and then down to Anchorage to stay with friends. I made it to Homer and Wrangell-St. Elias NP. My friends won the lottery to drive your personal vehicle all the way to Wonder Lake in Denali NP on the last day the park was open: Sept. 13th and they gave the ticket to me to use because they couldn't. Amazing. It was late in the season, and I knew I had to book it south quickly to avoid snow. Between Hinton and Jasper, it snowed quite a bit but melted the next day. I returned to Chicago by way of Vancouver, BC; San Diego, CA; New Orleans, LA; Mobile, AL; and Memphis, TN. Al totaled, I was gone 70 days and drove 18,168 miles. I'd do it again tomorrow (except, perhaps, the camping in a tent every night part. 😂) The only issue I had with my vehicle on the Alaska Highway was a burned out headlight from the requirement to have you lights on at all times. Safe travels.

That is an EPIC trip! We just spent some time in Denali a couple weeks ago and had a great time even only on the first 43 miles so we can only imagine how awesome the rest of the road is!

This has got to be one the absolutely most amazing road trips anywhere on earth! WOW!!! I’m still drooling over the cinnamon buns. Great video. You do a great job highlighting your adventures and the beauty of BC. I taught school at Toad River (Mile 422) for a year and 2 more years in Ft. Nelson in the early-mid-90s. Travelling back and forth to FN, my teaching partner and I would often be stopped and blocked on the highway by a herd of hundreds of caribou. (Literally, like the scene from Polar Express!) No shortage of wildlife and northern lights. I'm surprised you didn't see any moose, deer, wolves, elk, etc. It's hard to believe but Stone Mountain is even more amazing on a bright and sunny day and video just isn't able to capture the breath-taking blue of Muncho Lake. The locals and truckers on the highway are some of the best people you'll meet.

That’s a fun story! We did see some of that wildlife in the Yukon in our next two videos! That park was so incredible! We’d love to go back on a clear day! And we agree…we met a trucker at an overlook and he was so nice. Thanks and thanks for watching, Patrick!

My Grandfather was one of the thousands of civilians that worked on the ALCAN hwy in 1942 . He got sent out from Toronto Ontario , they were told to report to the train station for an " extended out of town job " . He had no idea where he was going until they were on the train.

I love how you serenade the bears!! You definitely have fun - it's great to see. When we were in Yellowstone two years ago, we were calling out "Yo Bears," and my daughter who was two at the time starting calling out, "Go Squirrels!" It's a family joke now. So if you hear a family on your adventures calling "Go Squirrels," stop and say hi, that'll be us! And if we hear someone singing to the bears, we'll know it's you! :)

The stretch of road where the many black bears are seen…guess there are lots of wild strawberry plants growing under all that tall grass that they are feeding on! When I drove up in 2014, there was a lot of construction in that area and got that info from a couple of the flaggers. Thought it was interesting!!!

We just came back from a trip on the Alaska highway! Enjoying reliving so many of the places we stopped at! We didn't go all the way into mainland Alaska. Was amazing!

That cobb salad was very northern European of you. I feel like when I go to places like Germany, Poland etc. have lots of cheese, meats and veggies for brekkie. I can't believe how little I knew of the Alaska highway. Had no idea that up until WW2 there was no road link, or the agreement with Canada. What was the animal at 11:55, I couldn't quite tell from its butt! 🤣 I've been loving all of the wild life you've shared with us in this clip from the bison and bears to the caribou. Laughed when you guys were like, this is the first time we've seen them then immediately afterwards you hiked with more. The hot springs were amazing and a real surprise, would never have guessed they were there! Those river shots at the end were immense. I thought when you guys went to the waters edge it was scarily dangerous, but then Whirlpool Canyon was something else! Such a gorgeous and really calming video this one ❤️
