For state #17 in our journey to all 50 states in 2021, we found ourselves in South Carolina! We may be a little biased since it’s my (Matt’s) hometown, but we spent the day exploring one of the greatest hidden gems in the south... Greenville, SC! If you’ve never been, you’re missing out! It is the perfect mix of big city meets small town. With an abundance of local restaurants, artisan shops, and art galleries, the charm is undeniable. Then add in the award-winning Falls Park with its breathtaking Reedy River Falls and gravity-defying Liberty Bridge, and there’s no question to why Greenville gets ranked as one of the best small cities in America by Condé Nast year after year! We LOVED getting to show some of the many reasons that we love Greenville and hopefully encourage you to make a visit!

Completely agree about growth of Greenville Spartanburg area. Moved back to Colorado in 2005 after leaving South Carolina in 2003. Everytime I come back to visit there's something new to see, or bike path to ride or area to explore.

How thoughtful it was of Nat to rent that whole restaurant out just for you lol 😂 Love the parks you went to with the trees and the water which I’m always drawn to. A tranquil spot in the city is a total win/win in my book!! It was a bit of a bummer about the food you guys had for lunch. Especially when it’s Alfredo and one of my all time faves, Cuban food. I moved from South Carolina 23 years ago and after all this time I want to move back to my home state. I'm from a REALLY small town (Johnsonville) but I'm not interested in going all the way back there. My friend in Columbia said Greenville would be a good fit and after watching your video, she may be correct. I feel excited about the prospect of being home again😊❤

Thank you for this video. I moved down here to Greenwood about a year ago because of family reasons. While it is a nice little "city", I was thankful to have finally visited Greenville last Sunday. The Wood That is Green has grown quite a bit over the last two decades. However, this former city-slicker needed to get out. Greenville did not disappoint!

True, but it’s so worth it! Right? So happy you like it too John! You can go for under $50 per person if you wanted to budget it. But we usually go for a special occasion & go around $70 a person. But I don’t mind paying that when I know the outcome will be good! 👌🏻

Your channel was recommended to me to watch the Naples video because I’ve been watching videos about Italy (we are going in a couple months) but I ended up watching the Greenville video instead and we went last weekend. Loved watching the Greenville video! I’m a Greenville native and feel that the prices at Gather GVL are high, too. If you’re looking for any alternatives to include in your pdf, I highly recommend these local favorites: Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery The Commons (indoor local food court) Hampton Station (White Duck Taco Shop is my favorite taco spot in GVL)

Omg I just found you and I cant believe you're in Greenville. Sc. I currently live in Arizona but I moved here from summerville sc. I'm looking at the greenville area for a retirement possibility. What a hoot!!. I'm going to watch your Asheville video because I lived there for 2 years and loved it but unfortunately too expensive to retire there. Look forward to seeing more of your videos!

I have been so derelict in watching and commenting, but I just love ya'll so much. Watching today made it a Houston family affair. Took one of our cars to see your Dad, Jared, and the crew. ♥️ (Shameless plug for the BEST auto repair shop in the state. Check out Houston's Automotive in Easley!) I have to agree that Gather GVL is a disappointment. You pay for the atmosphere and not the quality of food. Embarrased to say that having lived here for 13 years we have never been to Saskatoon, so now you have challenged us. Keep on trucking! 😍

Since you guys are from Greenville, if you haven't yet, next time you guys are in town try the Jerk Chicken Alfredo from Jamaica Mi Irie! I was skeptical about the mix of Italian and Jamaican but they actually do amazing! So glad KZfaq recommended the vid!

It’s really a great city to check out! We recommend staying in the Embassy Suites (rooftop bar), Hampton Inn (near Lazy Goat), AC Hotel is on Main Street and all by falls park!

I'm sure we have quite a bit of mutual friends! Lol... Not sure that I ever made it to a wishbox gig, but who knows... I used to go to a lot of local shows around Greenville. Non-the-less... I have been through Greenville many times but never really spent too much time. However, after seeing your video I would love to take my wife to Greenville for a date night or maybe even an anniversary weekend, etc. The wild game restaurant looked amazing. Such a good, well done video. I lived in Greenville for 3 years in early ‘90’s and loved it. How fun it was to watch this. I subscribed. Just can’t take the killing of animals to eat at the wild game restaurant. Everything else was inviting and entertaining. It’s the perfect city, in my opinion.

You should try Pasta Addict's new sit down restaurant in Simpsonville, A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza/Pasta Addict on Main Street Simpsonville next to the Ice Cream station. Their Stromboli is amazing and you get more for the price. Seriously, there are no words when eating at A Slice of Brooklyn. 💟

From Wisconsin. Love South Carolina, Charleston my favorite city . My plan was to retire there, but after some consideration ( looking for less taxes and hurricanes storms) me and my husband decided to think about seeing Greenville this summer as a possible retirement place vs. charlestion. My daughter and Son in law moved to green ille a few years ago. I was there this past August..it was hot! Love Saskatoon! Love the park. The suspended bridge is so amazing..

You should add that the pavilion there the brick building by the water with no windows was the original Dukes mayonnaise manufacturing when it started. Think it’s the Wyatt Pavilion.

I fell in love with pictures of greeville years ago and decided in my mind that that is where I wish to retire, early retire I mean as I plan to continue working at the hospital here in berkshire Massachusetts for 13 more years than look into a transfer to the hospital there
