Buy the Mongolia Pant here: www.adventurespec.com/shop/mo...
The Adventure Spec Mongolia Trail Pant is an over-the-boot riding pant/trousers designed for adventure, trail and dual sport riding. It features super tough 1000D ballistic nylon in key abrasion zones and large zippered thigh vents for extreme cooling in hot environments. Washable and heat resistant knee fabric helps withstand the degradation that can occur to other materials such as leather. Includes removable Forcefield Isolator Level 2 knee and hip protectors. A 'fit once' ankle buckle that ensures the lower legs stays closed. The Mongolia Trail Pant is a great outer layer choice for multi day race / expedition riding where comfort, longevity and protection are all key considerations. CE EN17092 certified AA for motorcycle use.

Been using these since late 2019, over 50K miles of riding later and they're still the best ADV pant I've ever worn. 11 BDR's, the Continental Divide Trail, rain, snow, mud, sand, rocks, and everything in between!

I did the Pyrenees ACT a few weeks ago and also used the Mongolia jacket and pants. Really a great combo when coupled with the Baltic Hybrid and Aqua Pac jackets as well as British Army laminate rain pants. The temps ranged from 4C with rain/sleet up to 35C. Was perfectly comfortable in all conditions.

I just did a ride & camping trip of 7.600 km this summer. I didn't expect to make use of the air vents in Norway but as it was up to 31°C they made my day. They fit very easy over my Alpinestars Toucan boots without opening the velcros at all.

i tested them (Atacama) and was surprised that the mesh lining that hold the knee protections could move a lot, to the point that the knee protections got systematically on the side of my knee when i bend my leg. i love the idea of having integrated protection instead of my big knee braces when i m traveling, and the airflow of this pants was awesome for something that can get closed when it get cold. If you could get an eye on that, i would be happy to buy them again ! :)

While I really like your holistic approach to clothes layering and think that some day I may have actually have some of your kit (I'm in Oz, so fingers crossed), I'm really not sure about the snap buckle on the outside of the pants. That looks like an ideal place for branches/scrub to snag on while going through thick vegetation or woods.

You mention that velcro works poorly when it's wet and muddy, so why not use a strong zipper as the main closing mechanism as well as velcro when you need a quicker closing and opening?

@skybluetenere
@skybluetenere Жыл бұрын
I know that there is a different word in BE and AE for the 'same' type of garment. On the other hand the meaning in history was slightly different and pants are closer to underwear but longer than a shorts. Just take it with a little bit of (British) humour and have a safe ride in AA certified riding gear 😉

@@skybluetenere Happy with buying the gear (waiting for the Linesman (Trousers). I just find the dumbing down to American English incrementally more and more intrusive in the UK. e.g. My 8 yo daughter told me to 'chill bro' the other day!!!!! I had to sit down with a gin and tonic to recover! 😞

With your design background can't you do something about the logo. It's one thing that has put me off some AS gear and seen me go elsewhere. I don't want big bight blue logos on black or other colour items. I don't want 3-5 logos per item, and worse on something like the Atacama race pants, I don't want a big rubber/plastic backed in flexible logo on my thigh. I want to support AS and the range is coming together nicely but some things are still a little rough around the edges. The single track jacket really doesn't need 4 logos. Just one discreet logo on the front (not baby blue), the reflective areas on the arms and back would look better as just a series of lines.
