Hello, thank sm for uploading this. Really appreciate it. however, there is a thing that I'm still not sure, which is one of the sentences in the video. This one: "he entered the ring with confidence despite the fact that he lost last week's match" he (subject1)= subject entered (verb1)= verb of 'he' he (subject2)=subject lost (verb2)= verb of 'he' in that sentence, do we have 2 independent clauses bcs we have 2 subjects and 2 verbs? or just 1 independent clause which is 'he entered the ring with confidence' ? im still struggling with this one. could you please help me out with that? thanks.

There are 2 clauses: the first is independent (or 'main') and the second is dependent (or 'embedded'). As you have pointed out, there are two sets of subjects with verbs, and since they are separate from one another (they don't share the same subject, or share the same verb), they are two different clauses. These subject-verb sets are the requirements of a clause, but they do not dictate whether a clause is independent or dependent. The dependent clause is the one that follows the linker, which for Adverbial Clauses is the subordinating conjunction. In this case, that conjunction is "despite the fact that". You may want to check out our What Are Clauses? video at kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e5t7l8ZjtJbGppc.html.
