I am a 53 year old woman who never exercised...never...and I just recently joined a CrossFit gym. Mostly because I didn't know what CrossFit was. I have been doing it for about a month and half now, two nights a week. Yesterday was rough...2 Reps: 400 meters + 30 box jumps + 30 wall balls (no breaks, timed). On my second rep of the 400 meter run...your advice was in my head and I was able to finish. I hope no one heard me telling myself to not be a P*$$Y. lol I finished it all!

That is EXACTLY what I have been thinking for at least 7 years. When the shit hits the fan all the old dogs are gonna have to step up and GET IT! I’m 63 with all the CRAP that goes with it. TRUTH, can’t run and gun anymore, can’t take the HOT temperatures, can’t even see good without my glasses. But I can sit in a hide with a rifle with a scope. It’s never been more true, I wish I was 23 again, but, let’s get it!👍💪🇺🇸

"...a generation that is INCAPABLE of fighting..." Yes. And all done intentionally. More and more, our gov't has become increasingly fearful of the very thing that MADE this country; brave, strong-willed people willing to fight for what is right.
@DevilbyMoonlight

the very same thing has happened here in the UK, the younger generations expect everything for nothing, can't think for themselves, they are constantly on their phones, they have no respect for their elders, wont get their hands dirty and dont know what hard work is or to go without and cant cope with being wet and cold... I hate to think what the new generations of soldiers are like now with all this woke nonsense, they dont even shout at them anymore let alone thump them when they screw up, I get the feeling that none of them could stand up to what we went through back in '85 as recruits for the Light Division (thats only the the RGJ and LI), as a youngster I really wasnt expecting that 26 miler at the end of training (I was expecting only 8 like the other infantry units do so thats what i trained for before enlisting lol) with all your gear weighted with sand which they like to drag your through a river so it gets wet, and heavier with GPMGs and Charlie G's which were passed around on the run so you all had a mile or so lugging that on top of your combat load a few times without stopping, and if you get through that you get a chance to get your breath before the fight through at the end was an absolute killer as your in bits and covered in webbing burns after the run, but your too tired and too sore to care anyway, if you copped an injury in training you would keep pushing on rather than risk a 6 week backsquad as 26 weeks of pure beasting was enough, in honesty we had a 2 week block leave after week 12 the bonus was after week 12 we were allowed to use the washing machines in the arms court, so no more fighting to get to a sink or shower to wash your gear, or finding creative ways of drying and pressing it to go in your locker before inspection in the morning - shit would fall from high if you were caught with wet or dirty gear... so 24 weeks of actual basic training, but they still fucked about with you up until you passed off the square - I cant see the youngsters doing that now, but back then it made people you could rely on not to quit when it got tough

Chad. You, your mom & may wife Mrs. Stephanie Korody made me tear up today. My name is Troy Korody. Stephanie showed me a video of what you & your mom did for me. I haven't cried in over a decade. I definitely choked up today. I'm the man struggling with multiple sclorosis. I'm too stubborn to quit & i know that the only easy day was yesterday. You all showing me the unexpected love really brings back some faith to humanity. I've not wanted to or cared if i woke up tomorrow for many years now but I'm not dead yet. I'm actually glad about that. Per usual, i keep trucking on. When I think life can't get harder, it does. Trying to find more faith in god & people has been rough. You all & (everyone that chipped in with funds & prayers) really show me that not all people are as discounting as I saw them. There are still some good ones, so I shouldn't think as I have twards society as a whole. I'm computer eliterit & this was the first way that came to mind to get a message out in hopes to say some public application. Thank you all for what you are doing. May god bless you all.

I’m an 11 year old girl. My dad showed this to me because he thought I needed motivation. I really didn’t want to watch it because honestly I didn’t care. But after watching it, I feel like this can literally change my life. My WHOLE PERSPECTIVE is different. When I was watching it, I felt like he was specifically calling ME out. Crazy! Even an 11 year old girl can find value in this, as I am crappy, lazy, and I don’t work hard. Showed me a valuable lesson. I salute to you, Mr. Chad Wright.

Thanks for the peptalk brother. You made me think of my dad. He passed in 2002 and he was more of a man than I will ever be. He was a Marine Corps DI and a combat veteran from World War II… He had three boys. He taught us all how to be men. The most important thing he taught us was never quit. Two years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I was a bit numb at first. But then… I heard his voice reminding me to NEVER quit. So I pressed on. After 35 rounds of radiation and seven rounds of chemo at last check I am cancer free. I owe that to him.

He sent me and my brother to a 5 week boot camp that was run by a WWII, Marine veteran. I went in '83, my brother in '87. It was a great experience ! Neither one of us went on to a Military career, but I have great respect for the people that have served.

My son is 23 and in his 5th year as a Marine. He is a force of nature - smart, strong, dedicated, takes his mission and calling seriously. He comments all the time about some Marines that are not doing their job - he says, “Semper Sometimes” to call them out. I was never in the military, but I am a kid of the late 70s and 80s where the coach could grab you by the face mask and light your ass up. Some people think it was harsh, but those same coaches were just as quick to give us a hug, high five, or lift us up with an inspiring story or help us overcome adversity on and off the field. They took us from boys to men and helped us build character, work ethic, responsibility, etc. I agree that a lot of this upcoming generation shows signs of weakness, but I hope there a more like my son and daughter that have grit and heart to lead the way this country needs them to.

My mother had a different name for those people, a ninnie. I heard three things growing up: "What doesn't kill will make you stronger," "you got to eat a little grit before you die," and "don't be such a ninnie." I quit gripping and complaining by about age 10. I know that because that was when my parents bought a business and I had to go on to raise myself and work at their business and take care of many thing at home. All of them, by the time I was thirteen. My father, who was not a daddy's girl type of dad. In fact I don't remember a single compliment he ever gave me except one time I overheard him telling my mother she had raised a fighter and he didn't know how now matter what life threw at me I always rose to the top. He never knew I heard that but it was the best compliment he could have ever said about me. My mother replied to him "because she is my daughter." She was raised by her parents who were a World War 1 nurse and a Scottish World War 1 Navy Captain. I have five sons now. One is a Marine, one just earned his SEAL contract and will be leaving for basic in October. The other three are figuring it out, but they are definitely from good stock, so I know they will. Good luck, and God bless everyone reading this in the era we now face. And, remember, don't be a dang ninnie.😁

I was treated so badly by everyone I knew prior to the divorce that I went back to college and finished with a double major because it angered me and I wanted to "show them" that the divorce was the right thing to do. That was back in the day that spousal abuse and child abuse were not as important as marriage. It nearly killed me but by the grace of God I did it.

Thank you for saying this. You know, one of the toughest guys I know to this day that I’ve always looked up to my entire life is my brother. He gave me the best words of motivation the night before I left for Marine Corps boot camp…..” You won’t make it. See you back here in a couple weeks.” That was all I needed. Those words stuck with me all the way through. Of course I made it and I excelled at being a Marine . That was 42 years ago.

My father (retired AF MSGT) told me the same thing, he said I wear my pants too low and I had a shitty attitude and he would see me in a few weeks...that was all I needed. When he saw me at graduation he was crying and all I could remember saying was "why are you crying? Because you were wrong and now you're embarrassed?" He tried to say he was proud but I know him too well.

@@jerrytomaschik1934 The best lesson I ever taught myself was any critique can be taken as positive, it is what you do with those words someone said to you that matters, let shit motivate you and you will succeed (success is different for everyone) and I think people have this idea that you have to own a home, a car, have a wife and kids, have a good career, etc...I have two of those things and I consider myself successful, the things I have survived, overcoming addiction and learning how to deal with PTSD/trauma is a win for myself and anyone for that matter. Getting out and getting yourself in shape and staying active is another big part in feeling better about yourself.

My dad was a former Marine who fought in Korea. He told me the same thing when I joined the Marines; you’re not going to make it! If he hadn’t said those words, I probably wouldn’t have made it. I graduated in 1966, meritorious PFC for highest expert score on the rifle range, and orders to scout sniper qualification school at Camp Lejeune, NC. Went to Vietnam in Oct 67 where I was with the 5th Marines scout sniper platoon. I’m now 76 years old and wish someone would tell me I’m not going to make it.

Whenever they encounter i problem I tell them, life is hard, and you have control over how you deal with it. I also told them that they have an advantage when they get older. If they keep this mindset they will go far because other people their age will be completely incapable of doing hard things. Right in man!

Don’t listen to SEALs when they are talking about SEALs. They talk way too much, this dude is case in point. They were horrible during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and gave away all SOF trade secrets so now the foes they face know exactly how US SOF fights from a tactical aspect. They robbed each other, killed each other, were on hard drugs while on campaign, raped civilians, got busted with child porn, lied cheated, and stole, and, worst of all, from a military standpoint failed missions. The truly professional intelligence or SOF personnel knows to keep their mouths shut about missions because every detail they give about how they operate makes the next mission much more difficult for the team going in next. The only Americans who caused more problems for the American war effort was Blackwater. There is a lot about all this if you do a google search. Sorry, I’m just so sick of listening to SEALs talk and talk and talk. Hearing an American civilian praise the SEAL is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. The American military and civilian need to recognize the issues that our plaguing their military in order to fiver them straight again. abcnews.go.com/amp/Politics/problem-navy-seal-commander-calls-return-order-discipline/story?id=64731772 amp.theguardian.com/world/2012/nov/09/navy-seals-breach-video-game

A young Navy seal told me 2 things. FEAR is good -> it keeps you alive. PAIN is good -> that lets you know you’re still alive! On a second note, I just asked my neighbor (still in Army training) to assist me with a small bit of labor in my henhouse. I’m nearly 40 years his senior. I apologized and told him “I used to be quite a formidable woman”. He looked surprised. Reminded me that I just “kicked cancer’s a$$” - well, gosh. I sure DID, which is why I needed some help with manual labor. Hey, STRENGTH comes in many forms, my friends. Physically weak right now tho mentally tough! 💪🏻 He also commented that many of his fellow trainees were not at all “manly”. Believe he’d agree with your statement on the future. Buckle up, Buttercups!

Hey Joann I apologize if I'm overstepping but I've been trying this stuff called dopa mucuna lately which I've found to be extremely helpful. It gives me a nice boost of energy and a sense of wellbeing. It makes me a little sad to consider that there are nice ladies like yourself out there who need help with manual labor type things.. and I cant be there to help. It's a precursor to dopamine which should give you a little get up and go..They give it to parkinsons patients to deal with chronic fatigue... Once again I don't know if this is helpful or weird.. I'm so happy that your neighbor is helping you out. It worries me that he won't always be around however. I hope this message reaches you well.. and you and yours are all healthy and doing well.. also I'm sure you are still a formidable woman!

I couldn’t for life of me sober up. I saw my future and I knew it was going to be a short one. So the last of 3 treatment centres I decided that no matter what was asked of me or whatever they said, I told myself “give it 100% of your efforts.” That way should I not recover at least I know I gave it everything I had and there was no other options left. What I learned over that month or 2 (I forget how long that treatment Center was) is that if I give my sobriety 100% of my efforts I can stay sober. It’s been 27 years now and that’s the contrast of 6 days at any given time that I tried too stay sober before. Be your own platoon, and if you have a family, turn that into your platoon. Stick together and get through this life with your head up proud and lots of laughter. My platoon loves dad jokes and sarcasm. And when 1 of us gets picked on, we all figure out how to deal with that situation.

Ex-Navy. No I wasn't a SEAL. But your pep talk brought back a memory I had concerning a few SEAL's. In Boot camp San Diego, I was unlucky enough to have a button unbuttoned on a uniform in my locker during inspection. Punishment was called a "Marching Party". No marching involved, just a tough 1 Hr. workout, ran by SEAL's. Thing was if you did not finish it, you'd have to do it again the next night. So, without going into too much detail, we were run through all kinds of exercises, one of which was laying on your back and holding your legs straight 6 inches off the ground for what seemed like eternity... Wow man, I was hurting so bad and wanted to quit. Didn't think I could make it. But I just kept thinking about having to do it all over again, and HELL NO, I'm not quitting. I was really proud of myself that I made it through that. When I went into Bootcamp I was not in the best of shape. hehe! I bet you're laughing thinking about your training in contrast. Not everyone is cut out to be a SEAL. I Respect you guys SO Much & I loved your pep talk man! Getting older everyday is hard. Thanks. Dennis 63 years SH3 '81-'85 Honorable Discharge Austin, TX
