Adwait Sangeet is a 90 minute documentary film based on the Journey of Life and Music of the Legendary Indian Classical Vocalists from Banaras Gharana, PadmBhushan Pt. Rajan and Pt. Sajan Mishra. The film was showcased as the opening film of International Film Festival (Indian Panaroma Section), Goa in the year 2011. This documentary film has travelled the world, and has been featured in various International Film Festivals in the USA, Canada, Europe and South East Asia.
Makarand Brahme, the Director and producer of Adwait Sangeet, 90 minutes documentary film, is an avid classical music lover and has been involved in advertising media, Television, films and Theater field in various capacities. Started his career as an actor in Marathi experimental Theater group Theater Academy Pune, with its most celebrated play called "Ghashiram Kotwal ". After that graduated from Theater to Television industry and then into the film industry as a producer Director and Actor. With a vast experience in the advertising and media field, he developed a keen eye for every subject and stylized presentation. After producing many Ad films, corporate films, Adwait Sangeet is his first directorial venture in non fiction category. In 2011, Pt Rajan Mishra was to celebrate his 61st Birthday and Makarand decided to make a documentary film on the life and music of these two brothers and legendary vocalists from Banaras Gharana. It was the most amazing to see that two individuals with best of their own musical knowledge, understanding and vision can sing Indian classical music together.... and the answer of this question is the film Adwait Sangeet. The film explores the great musical legacy of these two brothers, and also their 50 years of musical journey with many other aspects of their relationship, their family and general life that may look very easy but most difficult and filled with many challenges. Adwait Sangeet explores these and many other aspects of their lives. Adwait Sangeet got recognized first at IFFI Goa as an opening film of it's Indian Panorama section and then went on to get invited to many international film festivals in India, USA, Canada to various Asian countries including China. On the occasion of 71st Birthday of late Padmbhushan Pt Rajan Mishra, this film is now available to all music lovers on the youtube channel of Swarangan by Pt. Rajnish Mishra, son of Pt. Rajan Mishra. We are sure that music lovers from world over will enjoy watching this film.

This is pure pure gold ; the last piece of Rajan Ji speaking ; has every answer to life. So blessed to meet the great man and spend some time and breathe the same air as their divine self did. Absolutely miss the presence of the great man but his legacy lives on. What a blessing they are to human kind ; their music and their charm lives on🙏🙏🙏

Im from rawalpindi pakistan i was 19 years old when i was fall in love with them ..in movie sur sangam classical songs and i know about madam perwen and pt kasrag ans sir bheem jhoshi and lattest sir rashid but ..sir Rajin and Sajan mishra will be alive in my eras ...

I had a chance to visit thrice during my 20 yrs stay at Dehradun with Mr SC Pant whose son is Tabla maestro. Recently he played with Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. A beautiful place on way Sai Mandir Mussoorie Road. Anybody wants to learn Tabla he is one of the best percussionist had ever heard. He is also a national scholar.

अदभुत ,बहुत ही खूबसूरत कलेक्शन ,एक सार माला जैसे गुथा हुआ।अच्छी एडीटिंग ।अंत तक आते आंसू है आखों में।मेरे प्रिय रहे राजन जी।खूब सुना बचपन से।क्या जोड़ी है।इस बार ग्वालियर स्पिक मैके में साजन जी को सुना।क्या गाये वाह।राजन की चेतना रूपी उपस्थिति रही।ये तो साजन जी फील कर पाए होंगे।हम ढूढ़ते रहे राजन की जी आवाज़। फ़िल्म में देहरादून,दिल्ली और बनारस के घर देख कर उनकी फैमली को देखकर बनारस की परंपरा की सुंदरता साफ दिखाई। आगे की पीढ़ियां तैयार कर रहे है।आनंद के साथ धन्यवाद है।आप लोगो की वजह से हमारा भारत जिंदा रहेगा।

A perfect bonding of both the brothers(it is because of their father pt. Hanuman prasadji) both are fully devoted to there work. Both are born & brought in a musical family. Unfortunately Rajanji no more, but show must go on. I wish next generation will copup.

Very talented, down to earth duo Misra brothers contribution to Hindustani Classical Sangeet is unique in its own right and place. It was a great opportunity to meet and listen to them during their visit and performance in Calgary, Canada .It was made possible to have such super caliber maestro, by Harjeetbhai of Sarb Akal.

That last reflection by Rajan Mishraji hits differently now that his physical body is no more with us. But, yes, his Chaitanya (the divine vibrations that he spread through his music) continues eternally. Such a deep understanding of music. He was such a poet in his words also. What a beautiful documentary of two of the greatest vocalists in a generation!

Such a beautifully rich tribute! I am speechless! The physical is transient, but the spirit can be felt long after. May God place his comforting hand upon all who have to take his Parampara and The Gurukul ahead. Unrivaled and inspirational, he was unparalleled.
