5:30 officer said he went to the same school so he is from the same area. You don't see from their point of view, they see all these kids crammed into a small truck and traveling to a place to 'walking around' in the country as you say. It turns out this was a harmless trip to go walking around. Their job is to look for things that seems suspicious and you gotta admit this looks suspicious. He got their stories and sent them on their way.

@@Dachdogoriginal That actually depends on the state. Lots of states now have "stop and identify" laws. Those laws state that if a cop is suspicious of someone committing illegal activity they can demand that they identify themselves. Refusal can lead to detainment or arrest.

I do it sometimes! If I don't plan to make a purchase when I go out, I'll forget to bring my wallet as it doesn't feel like a necessity. My subconscious tells me I'm less likely to spend money. Just want to comment on the "smoke & poke" phrase...I assume that this officers experience is such that his only thought is this is all ANYONE is doing late at night in a park....I resent this. I love being in the park late at night, to enjoy the solitude and stillness, no one but myself to think, ponder etc.,....Not all of us are up to shady activities.

These officers need to quit just assuming that because kids are out at night that they're up to something. Oh, they're going to go to the park at night they must be planning on doing something bad. I bet most of us can remember going and playing with our friends at the park in our teenage years. I think it was more fun then than it was when we were kids.

When I was younger me and my friends would go to the park at night cuz it is a big wooded area and just camp. We loved to go through creek and explore. This was back in late 1990 and early 2000. We did not have all the technology kids have today, and we would just explore. I know my city like the back of my hand because of this. 😏
