True, and women live longer when they aren't shackled to a man, whereas men live longer when they ensnare a woman. Go figure, men are takers, women are givers, to the point that women literally give years off there lives to men. Not worth it at all, imo.

No, I'd say she also had issues way before he came along. The fact that these people are allowed to get away with what they do is an indication the partner involved also has major issues of one sort or another (if there is a partner involved). They are attracted to each other, and put up with what's going on for a reason. I mean, if this was you or me, that stuff would have been hurled out in the garbage before it ever got to be anything even close to a teeny hoard, and the other person could lump it or leave.

@@stargate6245 Judging from the proliferation of information and videos on the topic, I'd say absolutely. It's the ability to spot it before you commit to someone that's key. Then again, it could be alcoholism or drug abuse to name a few other issues people have and try to hide from other people. Some people even go ahead and get married without ever having stepped foot in their fiancé's house, (because the hoarder keeps making excuses) and that's a huge red flag that is sometimes also ignored, as crazy as it seems.

My hobbies are crafts of all sorts, and I came up with a rule to only have maximum of 5 projects at a time, because otherwise they will never get done and you end up with clutter. I mean obviously not THAT much clutter, but it still drives me crazy 😵‍💫

Or like re visit 1 or 2 years later, to check up the status. They can edit and fit many of them different visists into 1 epsiode, since each family house might only produce like 5 min of content.

In situations like this everyone gets upset and mad at the person who destroyed their partners home but not the person that never actually did something before it got out of hand. It's both parties fault not just the hoarder for bringing everything inside.

The way he behaved in this draws the names of several personality disorders into my mind, all of which pose a great risk to society as a whole. He'll never seek out professional help. It's not something he'll ever consider. People don't matter to him, and they never will.

They should just sell his costume jewelry it must have a bit of a value. Don't just throw it. It's a waste... What I don't understand about the others living in the home is that if the hoarder is ASLEEP, can't they clean the cobwebs or pick up their trash at least and throw it away one by one? I think the partner is partly responsible she could at least have done a bit of arranging? I don't understand...

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the insurance companies ever help these people with these destroyed homes?
@mildredpierce4506
@mildredpierce4506 3 жыл бұрын
No. Maintenance of a home is the responsibility of the homeowner, not the insurance company. The poor condition of the house makes it both a liability and fire risk and most insurance companies wouldn't even insure it. Additionally if it's condemned, no on will insure it.

@Claire Skey I guess I just have a cranky insurance company. The plumber said it just suddenly broke in one spot, no warning, no prior problems. Australia doeesn't sound like it covers much, either. This one doesn't cover wind damage, either. My neighbor's company covers all that. Hmmm.... Thanks for the information.
