AE86 Clutch & Flywheel Upgrade

2 ай бұрынIn this video I am replacing the clutch and flywheel. I am going with the proven Toda lightweight flywheel and Exedy full disc clutch. Since this car is not a dedicated track car, I think this is the best option. Of course in the process of doing this, I found other issues that needed attention.
I actually bought the flywheel from Japan and had it shipped over, since currently the USD - YEN conversion is in our favor, this method was actually cheaper than any retailer here in the USA. It did take a little longer, but not by much!

Rear Main Seal: 90311-70007
Clutch Forks Boot: 31126-20070
Pilot Bearing: 90363-12003
Transmission Mount: 12371-31020
Toda Flywheel: 2100-4AG-000

Great vid Rick. I know that ACT requires a 500 mile break in and to keep shifts between 5-6k rpm. I'm not sure about Exedy clutches, but I would think they would have similar standards. You don't want to glaze your clutch.

Thanks bro as always I appreciate it! Yes, I always like to break in clutches. I think I roughly put about 500 miles on it before I started beating on it. No clutch kicks yet, but hopefully soon.
