A question just out of interest: they are obviously greek pilots landing to Greece, is it necessary for all commercial aviation pilots to communicate in english no matter where they are from or where they landing? Could the fact that other pilots preparing to take off or on the same frequency to be able to understand? Why this is done as there is communication between 2 greek pilots and tower here?

All Air traffic Control Communications must be in English (ICAO rules), it’s not only the pilots of this specific aircraft and the tower who are monitoring the frequency , there might be dozens of other foreign aircraft in it and they must have an understanding of what is going on so whenever that Mic key is on, English should be the only language that comes out, also for those two pilots I can tell from experience that since you’re studying everything in English, even if you are a greek native speaker, english abbreviations and definitions come out easier, good day

@DemosthenisMountrakis now i know. Since then i became addicted to aviation so🤣 and yes i can now confirm that if you learn the english phraseology you might even not know how things are called in your native language... i sure don't

Rule says that a pilot use contact in English or local language. But of there are other foreign planes closed, must contact in English.

Landing gate for VMC is 500ft AGL, 800ft MSL for LGAV. You hear the captain mentioning it during descent briefing at 1:10. He commands gear down a bit below 2000ft AGL and by the landing gate he is stabilised (full landing configuration, landing checklist completed). Nothing late, all within SOPs.
