@@Rian-zf7ye The Stark endings made me wanna vomit. I kind of liked Starks in the beginning, they were never really anything too special for me, but I liked them well enough. Especially when Ned was around. I didn't like how Arya had this terrible overpowered assassin arc after leaving the Hound to die. Sansa has always been a bitch in the show and her being Queen just because is just horrible. It's that simple. Jon was likeable, I guess, but then he turned into an absolute retard in the last season or few seasons and the Targaryen thing was merely a plot device to make us think that what they did in s8 made any sense, which it absolutely didn't. Don't get me started on Bran.

@CaliSmile13 жыл бұрын
Sure, it goes “Fire and blood” (which is the first half of Targaryen rule in Westeros) And then “A knight of the Seven Kingdoms” which takes place 100 years before the game of thrones show But if you wanted some of Robert’s rebellion then you could read “The world of Ice & Fire” but there’s literally only 5 pages on it. And that’s cuz this book is more of a giant history book of Westeros so it gives short snippets of each king and place in the world. But it’s a very big book with ALOT of information on everything. There is bits of “the long night” but not concrete stuff about it (the book is written in a way that’s it told my a Magester who says that it could be factual and it could be wrong, who knows). And there really isn’t a lot on the doom of Valeryia, but if you want to know more about that then it would be in Fire and Blood cuz it’s when the Targaryens left the east, one of their daughters could see the future and she tells her father we need to leave, so all the Targaryens leave Valyria. And everyone there is like ok cool whatevs, and then they all die

@monokhem I'll give credit to D&D for S1-S6, they were absolutely amazing. But once they ran out of material it became obvious that the story is better than them. Even if everything happens the same way (Daenerys goes "Mad Queen", Jaime dies trying to save Cersei, John returning to the wall etc.), It's about how and why these things happen. In S1-S6 everything happened for a reason and eventually everything makes sense. Hardly anything about S7-S8 make sense, things just happen because they needed to in order ot finish the story quick enough. D&D are trash compared to GRRM.

He is done as a writer as far as A Song of Ice and Fire is concerned. I suspect part of his contract is that he is either not allowed to finish his books his way, or contradict how the TV show ended his story. We will never know how his story would have ended if he hadn't sold it.

He didn't sell it he gave them rights to ADAPT it. It's their own adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire. He technically still controls all of the creative ownership.

what i would do to see that pilot.. damn. sad that show got cancelled. it was a show with heavy involvement from George, that covered material he's only ever hinted at with warped interpretations from thousands of years later. would of been some big bombs in there i bet, he wanted to set the record straight on the white walkers, D&D never understood them and completely fucked them up after ditching George for seasons 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Yep. The one he called The Long Night was cancelled after a pilot was completed and never ordered to series. Currently the only prequel in active development is House of the Dragon, based on the Dance of the Dragons, and recently there's been reports of early work on a Dunk and Egg show. Those reports also included rumors of a Robert's Rebellion show.

I wonder how pissed off George and the HBO execs were at the ending of season 8. They had the world's most popular show and then witnessed it collapse with some of the largest fan backlash I've ever seen. I know personally, I really don't have a lot of interest in the other GOT shows because of how GOT became increasingly worse as they had less source material to rely on. Considering that none of the shows have in depth source material (in terms of characters, story arcs, etc.) I don't have much hope for them. Does anyone else really have much interest in the prequels?

I hope it never sees the light of day after the main series slumped to garbage. I can't believe Naomi Watts agreed to this, it's so beneath her to work with HBO and it's long track of tanking final seasons of all it's recent shows. HBO is always like "we've got their attention and the ratings are skyrocketing, let's just cut the budget and produce shit, they'll watch it nevertheless".
