I think I'm right in saying that when JSB was asked to commission a new organ, he chose this because of its wide use of stops, & particularly for the superb pedaling, that M-M demonstrates so admirably. Pity about the persistent coughing, I'm surprised no one clapped between movements.

Quant à sa façon de jouer, nous n'avons que les témoignages de ceux qui l'ont connu à l'époque qui lui reconnaissent tous un incroyable talent d'improvisateur et un excellent niveau technique.

M-C Alain plays this Toccata even slower than M-M Kaczor and the pedal solo is better (more fluent) in my opinion in M-M Kaczor interpretation.
