USA pre-clearance from Ireland was first introduced in Shannon Airport at least 20 years ago, wayyyyy before Dubland airport, just saying.

Thanks Andy. Yeah someone else had commented and let me know that Shannon also had it. I didn’t even know you could fly internationally from there. Pre-clearance is a huge benefit!

Think you focused way too much on the alcohol and neglected a lot of other things in the process

Thanks for watching the video. Apart from the alcohol, which I wouldn’t have had anyway, the overall service and experience wasn’t great. It’s only my opinion and I understand others may have a different experience and opinion in the matter.

Had a similar experience when I flew from Dublin- Cleveland with them. Hot drink after dinner and then nothing else all flight till the snack. I had to go ask a few times as well. Thankyou for sharing your planned view on it and know it’s probably the standard service on that airline 😂

@@thekennafamilyadventures5 that’s reassuring to hear, I look forward to seeing as I’m planning them again in 3 months. I wouldn’t be using the free bar outbound myself but would be nice to have a drink as an option myself personally for the return

Thank you for posting this helpful video. I would say that as we’ll be visiting friends in the summer we found roughly Aer Lingus were £500 cheaper than the big carriers - so on reflection, me and my wife will be having a G&t 😅 Interesting that BA (part of the same group) were often charging a few hundred quid more but using Aer Lingus for return flights.

Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you found it useful. I know Aer Lingus run pretty reasonably priced flights to Orlando via Manchester but anything direct from Dublin always comes up quite expensive when we’ve looked. There’s always been other options that were better value. It’s only my opinion but in general I don’t think the overall service with Aer Lingus is great. In regards to what airlines charge for alcohol on long haul flights: Condor : charge, also charge for headphones and extra movue selection LOT : charges on LH flights LH : charges for spirits on LH flights AA charge - beer/wine 9$, spirits 10$ Also Iceland Air charge for all alcohol and also food on LH flights IB charge on LH SAS charges on LH flights Just to name a few ...

Thanks . I didn’t know that. Not sure we can fly Condor from the UK or Ireland. I’ve flown AA transatlantic and had complimentary bar before. Maybe it depends on the route?

Not just Ireland but in general. You may connect. Condor charges for pretty much everything I was suprised. Some have free beer and wine and spirits for purchase. LH group made this cut recently

i flew from dublin with AA recently and the is no charge for alcohol, condor are not a full service airline and are the cheaper alternative to lufthansa and operate the basic model ie cheap base fare and anything extra comes at a cost

Shannon has pre clearance as well. Great video. The 321 Neo is fab. They are a game changer aircraft for some transatlantic routes.

Thanks for the info. I wasn’t aware of that. I didn’t know you could fly to the US from Shannon. Can you tell me who flies transatlantic from there? We love the pre-clearance. It makes such a difference after a long flight!

@@thekennafamilyadventures5Aer Lingus fly to New York JFK & Boston, United fly Chicago and Newark and Delta are back this year flying to New York JFK aswell. Not bad for a small airport like Shannon😅 It’s got a long history of transatlantic routes. Agree with u on pre clearance. Love ur videos and ye seem like such a really nice family.

The business class seats on the A321’ Neos are the same as the seats on the A330’s, so they are full lie flat beds.

@@thekennafamilyadventures5 No problem. I’ve travelled transatlantic on their A330’s in business but not on their A321’s. But they use some of these A321’s on the early morning DUB - LHR route in between their transatlantic flights and it’s not much extra to book these seats. It’s only an hour flight at most but nice to experience the seat if you haven’t experienced it before.

Aer Lingus is the “value carrier” within the IAG group and was very much a budget carrier before becoming part of the group.

Thanks for your comment. I wasn’t aware of that. I suppose they don’t think of themselves or promote themselves as a budget carrier anymore and their prices certainly wouldn’t suggest that. Have you flown with them recently?

Alcohol is not free on any trans Atlantic aerlingus flight don’t be cheap and go business if u want it all free

@@grahamdaly4172 hi Graham, thanks for watching. I’m not that bothered. I was on a work trip so wouldn’t have been drinking much anyway. It was more of the point that it’s the only carrier that doesn’t offer it and the flights don’t cost any less. United and America. Are normally cheaper in price. I’ve flown Aer Lingus again recently and had a more positive experience. Vlog will be up next week.

I had a better experience in May when I flew to Dulles again. Hit and miss.
