My work as an aerialist in Quidam By Cirque du Soleil.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Danila Bim is a circus artist of international acclaim and has performed her extraordinary aerialist skills in over 30 countries on 4 continents.
Her professional dance training adds quality, beauty and power to her performances.
Danila has performed her Aerial Hoop act with several circus companies including the world famous Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. and Cirque du Soleil’s acclaimed production, Quidam.
Now on tour with her hair hanging act at Volta by Cirque du Soleil.

Another one of the more incredible acts of Cirque du Soleil. I've seen several shows in person and I own some of the CDs. I'm always amazed to see people like this who literally risk their lives to entertain us. The music is always the greatest, and I love the fact that there are no animals abused in this company.

So sad to see this show finally retired. It is still the most beautiful cirque show to date. I'm a big fan of quidam, I even have quidam tattooed on myself. And you my dear are amazing at this act, you held true to the emotions this act was designed to portray. I'm sure I saw you in Canberra Australia in one of the last legs the show had. I traveled out of state for days just to see quidam one last time.

This is so lovely, and amazing to come across this clip on KZfaq! I have Quidam on DVD from about 10 years ago and have been doing Aerial Hoop for 2 years and have performed... you're an inspiration!

That was unbelievable. I have recently met a few friends who do Lyra and Single swinging trapeze and one of them wants to one day work for Cirque du soliel so I was curious to see the level of expertise as it’s been many years since I have seen Cirque live. Wow that was amazing.

They don't get dizzy?? I know they practice hours but is it possible that they never get dizzy with too many spins?

Midoly B I just get dizzy if I don't train for a very long time, more than 6 months, and try to spin very fast. You get used to it!

I wonder if they ever spot? I've never done aerial hoop but I've done ballet and spotting is the main way you don't get dizzy in ballet.

I wish I would have gotten used to it.. After more than one year performing every day a routine with spins I had to give up on it cause I would keep getting too dizzy and therefore just not really safe... Oh well I think I´ll stick to floor routines haha

Peter I am a dancer who also does aerial, and the closest thing you can do to spotting is to pick one particular point that is spinning with you (such as the apparatus, or your own hand) and focus on it. If you are hanging upside down your best bet is to pick a spot directly underneath you and stare at it. These performers would be so used to it that it wouldn’t bother them!!!

This is so mesmerizing and incredible! I just have to ask! How would one go about starting with Aerial Hoops? Since it takes such intense strength, would you want to build up body strength before you ever practice with one?

Caramella Finding a nearby aerial studio is a good way to go! They work progressively in terms of tricks so you can build strength as you go along.

Practicing it will give you the strength you need. but for sure you will need some conditioning apart. And not only the upper body but the body as a whole... flexible and strong! I hope I could help...

Yes! besides the head. It's red because one of the original Girls in the creation of the show had her Hair red.

How do you manage to turn so many times? I'd be puking like crazy even doing a few of those turns, and I do ballet. Is it training or a predisposition?

It's both. Some people independent of the training can't develope the tolerance.

Lina li I believe your mom it’s totally right. You don’t need a hoop of your own. It’s not fun to be that yong and train all alone. You will learn much faster enrolling in a class. And it will be safer too. A studio, some friends, a coach and a lot of mattresses around you. ☺️❤️

Propel_Pierrot we use to call it the cerceaux ladies. We were also 3 spirits of very brave women that came back after a hard battle. Hurt but not hopeless.
