In Powys, near the town of Welshpool is Breidden Hill & Rodney's Pillar, dominating the local area at over 1200ft. The footpaths leading to the summit provide superb 360° views of Shropshire & Wales. Rodney’s Pillar was built by the men of Montgomeryshire who supplied oak from the area & shipped them down the river Severn to Bristol, where Admiral Rodney’s fleet was eventually built.
