Emergency relief efforts are underway amid the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan. Reports suggest widespread shortages of food, water and medicine, with President Benigno Aquino deploying soldiers to some of the worst hit areas. The US has already sent approximately 90 Marines and sailors to the Philippines to assist in aid efforts.

the president is now considering martial law for affected areas to prevent looting. meanwhile warehouses on each province that is suppose store relief goods exactly for situations such as this remain empty due to mis-appropriation of funds by officials. this is the price for having stolen from the people that could have eased relief efforts. looting would not have occured if there was enough food and water.

Somebody check the closet and tell ban ki-moon the storm is over now, he can stop hiding! But then again that does look like a lot to pay for!!! You people in the Philippines need to remember it wasn't the people in the blue helmets that showed up to help you first! Will you bite the hand that feeds you, or will you love your neighbor as yourself?
