This played at a friend's funeral in 2022 after she lost her battle to Breast Cancer 🎀. I still remember this song starting and no dry eye in site. She also wore a pink dress and ribbon as Final Fantasy got ber through such a difficult time and Aerith was her favorite character. I want this at my own funeral. To me it's a beautiful song about death and loss as well as remembering those you lost in your life. Every time I hear it I think of her, my Grandma, and my Poodle. And you could hear some sniffing from those there. I remember seeing it myself and several around me were in tears or crying just like myself. It was a beautiful moment.

To who ever says video games have no emotion or art, this. This right here will make any man get goosebumps and cry remembering their childhood.

When it played this music when you meet Aerith the 2nd time In the remake, man, how much it moves me. I can’t get back my years as a kid again.. but thankfully I still get to relive this adventure.

I challenge anyone to show me a truly worthy contender to go up against it. It’s breathtakingly perfect for what it aims to communicate to the listener, with or without the appropriate context in mind. Nobuo Uematsu, your works deserve to be immortalized in museums forever.

Everyone needs a song to evoke / remind them of sadness … this is mine … every time it hits so hard.

I remember a few months ago, i was working as a delivery driver for a company picking up a heavy fridge for recycling at a petrol station that was under renovation. The day was challenging, hot and under alot of pressure. As i managed to attach the safety wraps around the fridge onto the van My go to radio station was Classic FM which i listen to every time i'm on shift. As i turned the engine on, this music came on immediately, and for a moment i felt like the 14 year old kid who was playing his playstation in his room. That one time in my life i didn't have to wake up early for work, that one time in my life i didn't have to worry about keeping up with my bills or face eviction, that one time in my life i didn't have to worry about getting old. For those two minutes this music was playing, i was an emotional wreck, a 39 year old crying in a van reminiscing the days of living in complete blissfulness.

This beautiful and compassionate song brings me so much joy despite knowing it’s both sad and hopeful. It paints a vivid image in my mind about life, love and the pursuit of being yourself for some reason. I can’t stop crying.

I remember as a kid thinking maybe I did something wrong. There has to be a way to change the outcome, is there a different version but no. Best Game/story in Human History.

To think that this score is actually one of the most beautiful pieces written is truly amazing and shows that the feelings we get from just playing a game is what musical enthusiast actually feel from just hearing it.

I have to admit, I shed a tear over this song, watching Aerith’s journey with Cloud in chronological order! 😢

I was hoping they would perform this piece at the Distant Worlds concert last year in Portland and was a little heartbroken they didn't! But I got tickets to the FFVII-specific concert and am looking forward to this!!! So stunning.

I played FF7 first in 1998 , Aeris/Aerith theme song is the most iconic, next to the world map theme.

Uematsu is such a wonderful master!!

I'm 16 and everyone mostly thinks about how brain dead are gen z people. And I know most of you think that I don't know how og games were amazing. Well, no new games gave me the enjoyment and it's indeed mostly empty hype and so other things (like microtransactions and more) that made gaming sh*t today I watched advent children when I was just a kid and didn't understand it and didn't know how to get the information without spoilers. My sister told me to download ffvii remake for her (because of nostalgia) and she never played due to her college difficulties , So I played it and still didn't understood what just happened. Until I got a copy of ffvii, first I just played it on my phone till I got my crt tv setup. I played it every day even in the class on my phone (I can transfer save files) It was the most amazing yet sad Game I've ever played. I'm still crying while writing this because of aerith, the most kind one and the supporting one in the party. I remember how hard my sister hugged me after the first disk.(she was also shedding tears.) For anyone who says games(specially og ones and retro ones) don't have emotion You are a pathetic fool. I don't know why but living in the 90's heals my soul everything in my room except for my laptop, is 90's hobbies, collections, TV's and many more things.
