@@Vaguh i was really looking forward to this.. and.. well its done. i dont love it. although ive never been a diffuser/splitter kinda guy.. also. i punched through the bumper on one of the holes with the bit. lol so.. not super excited about that.

do you know of any diffusers that wont require drilling and use the holes that are there from factory

There’s not many, but I think ECS tuning sells a complete replacement for the lowered diffuser on the GTI in golf are. I’m not sure who else sells a complete replacement that snaps into place of the stock one.

is there suppose to be a gap? the top of the diffuser. i thought it is suppose to be snug fit.

Yep, totally normal. It’s a pretty good fit, but it isn’t meant to rest against the stock valence.

@@ronsav2067 its not that noticeable. Aerofabb made it to have that little gap. It's what the diffuser looks like. I had second thoughts too when I install it. but it looks clean trust me.

@@kelvinphan8584 I can't imagine it's a necessity to have the gap. I saw someone else install it flush. Do the instructions say why there's a gap or if it's necessary? I have one ordered and wonder if there's a reason it has to be there. I'm actually getting it because I don't like the stock fake vent look...

@@RJYOUNG396 The way the metal is shaped leads to the gap. Their website images show the gap so its 100% meant to be this way. I do think with a little finessing you could get it flush to the stock piece

Are your exhaust tips 4"? Just curious because I'm upgrading my exhaust and rear diffuser at the same time and I'm goin with a 4" tip...

@@Vaguh Cool, thanks for the info. Just wanted to make sure a 4" tip would fit with the diffuser. I can't wait for this mod because the only thing I don't like on the GTI is the fake vent look of the stock rear end. 👍👍

It probably took us longer than most people would because of filming and goofing around. I would guess this could be an easy two hour install, and maybe less if you have a secondhand.

Looks nice, but i wish since this is a product made for a Euro car, that they had used metric hardware. All of my good/nice tools are metric, with just a basic selection of SAE stuff buried somewhere in my toolbox

I just tried to install mine and the side pieces rub on my exhaust tips. What size are yours? Thanks

The tips on this AWE exhaust are 4”, but are tucked up pretty tight. There is about a 1/2” gap between the bottom of the tip and the diffuser.
