Here is my review of the Aeropress Go Travel Coffee Maker. This is a superb coffee maker that produces a silky smooth coffee packed full of flavour. It's perfect for use on the go including uses as a camping coffee maker or can even be used for backpacking too.
This is a cracking piece of camping gear but a bit large for backpacking gear.
Buy from Amazon for £33.99 here: amzn.to/3YVO4Bl
The AeroPress Go travel coffee maker is engineered to fuel an active lifestyle. It gives coffee lovers everything they need to conveniently brew superb coffee anywhere. Like the AeroPress Original, the AeroPress Go provides the same great taste and brews American, espresso, and cold brew style coffee that can be enjoyed as is or used in a wide range of energizing and refreshing drinks. Designed in Silicon Valley, Made in USA.
Product Details
Delicious coffee anywhere: Rapidly brews smooth, pure-tasting coffee without the acidity or grit. Optimized for traveling, camping, and boating. Free yourself from hotel coffee!
Compact design, with mug included: Includes microwaveable mug and lid that doubles as a traveling case so you can brew coffee anywhere. Quick to clean and pack up.
Brew American or espresso style coffee: Brews one to three delicious cups with one press. AeroPress Go can also make cold brew coffee as well as espresso-style coffee for lattes, cappuccinos, and more.
What's Included
AeroPress Go Chamber & Plunger: For brewing the most delicious coffee ever!
Mug with Lid: Pack up your AeroPress Go into a sturdy, portable mug that you can take anywhere.
Micro-Filters: Includes 350 replacement AeroPress micro-filters. Micro-filters remove grit from your coffee, unlike other press-type coffee makers.
The filter holder makes it easy to take micro-filters with you anywhere you go.
Stirrer: Designed to be the perfect length for AeroPress Go.
Scoop: Measures just the right amount of coffee for delicious, easy AeroPress Go recipes.
Care and Cleaning
Care: To maximize seal life, always eject the used coffee right after brewing and store your AeroPress coffee maker with the seal pushed all the way through the chamber. This keeps the seal free of compression for longer seal life. There is no adhesive on the seal, so you can easily remove it and then replace it on the AeroPress plunger. You can purchase replacement seals from here.
Cleaning: For day to day use, a simple rinse is sufficient because the plunger wipes the chamber clean as you brew. However, you can wash AeroPress coffee makers in the dishwasher (top rack only). We recommend occasionally removing the seal from the end of the plunger for a good washing inside and out with warm water and dish soap. If your chamber ever gets sticky, wash it with vinegar.

Hi Andy. No denying that this is one of the best cups of coffee I’ve tasted in a long time. I use one scoop of cafe du Monde (from New Orleans) and one scoop of dolce de Leche (I change this up) BUT, this is one thing that rankles. I don’t mind doing the inverted method but seriously Aeropress, for the price, get the filter cap right. I bought the filter that stops that unextracted coffee from flowing prematurely but of course, it doesn’t fit in the kit. Oh well. I recommend you check out yeti and their thermal latte cup with the lid. Perfect size. Cheers mate from Canada 🇨🇦

Brilliant I bought the larger one - also bought the steel filter which you simply rinse. Saves carrying filter packs everywhere. Wouldn’t be without it 👍

Loved your review. Interesting that you use inverted method. I use it to get the strongest coffee to dilute or for fake espressos. Some good points made e.g. it's portable but bulky for going ultralight where every cubic inch space is essential e.g. for 20l backpack it's hard to take it over something like x-brew. Camping or large backpack, no brainer. I agree on cleaning and maintenance - easier than I thought with some many parts, basically all you need is water to rinse. Lastly, if you find your method, it makes a great brewer - literally hard to go back to classic, boring pour-over. It's not only for travelling, good for home use too, you can use mug for easy storage or to pour coffee into smaller espresso cups. I only have a large Bialleti moka pot so when I want to make less coffee or a bit faster I reach for Aeropress Go. My gf considered it a gadget/gimmick but she changed her mind quickly :)

I love my aeropress and use it every day - its so simple yet effective. I didn't know they made an extra portable one. You can also buy reusable metal filters to save you having to buy paper refills - worth it in my opinion!

I can really see why the Aeropress has the reputation it has. The taste of the coffee is excellent and it's really easy to use. I love the way it is so easy to clean too! I'll have a look into the metal filter when I use all the paper ones up.

Hi Andy, great review on what seems a great product... A luxury item for the Outdoor Coffee Lovers...!💯 So on that note & having had some time to reflect🤔, it looks like a real quality compact & lightweight product, but also abit of a faffing around...!🤣... & I can see me knocking it all over the place...!🥴🤬 I am tempted at half price though...!👍 Wish U had shown the cleaning of it...!!! I still love a "Stove top espresso maker" or Moka-Pot, that I bagged half price at £7... Aluminium, so obviously not as light & almost twice size, but can split in two & would also need a cup, but it's soooo easy to use🙂 Gives about the same 240ml, a good mug full, of piping hot coffee straight off the boil🔥 No paper filters required, fill it up, whack it on the burner & when the sound stops, Hey Presto, it's coffee time...!🥳 To clean it out, the bottom will be empty of water, the top will be empty of coffee, so unscrew, knock the coffee grains out of the holder, give it a wipe & a quick blow & it's ready for the next cup, obviously a quick rinse if enough water available...!👊 Right...?🤔, think it's time 4 a Brew...!☕😄✔️

Hi Andy, I bought one of these for camping. I then watched your video but thought I would try the non-inverted method straight from the box. Having tried that a couple of times I noticed (I am using Lavazza Rossa) that half the coffee liquid had already entered the cup before I even inserted the plunger. So, I am guessing that either this coffee is too coarse or in fact the only viable method for brewing with this Aeropress (and this coffee) is to use the inverted method where you have already created the suction....?

I stir and pull the stirrer out as I top up, so it rinses the stirrer as I pull out (stop sniggering at the back). Keeps all the coffee in the press and cleans as you go. Least waste of water (especially on camp) and coffee. However, while it’s great it is more faffy when backpacking compared with coffee bags. Take your coffee pucks home with you. LNT.

It's a cafetiere. £5 from Tesco. The flavour is clearly down to the coffee you put in it.
@BackpackingUK
@BackpackingUK Жыл бұрын
I use a cheap cafetière too. You can genuinely taste the difference. More of a fuller, smoother flavour. Of course, that’s only as long as you use descent coffee in the first place (not necessarily expensive either, Aldi sell a cracking coffee!)
