Releases in July Worldwide, Japan in June
In March 2011 Japan was beset by a huge earthquake, a monstrous tsunami and the subsequent meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear plant. In the autumn of 2011, despite advice to the contrary, Aerosmith brought their "Back On The Road" tour to Japan, a country with which they'd always had a special relationship. The Japanese fans came out in their droves and Aerosmith responded with some of the finest gigs of their distinguished career. This film follows the band on that tour combining full length live tracks with behind the scenes footage which is at times touching and emotional and at others humorous and insightful. More than anything else it demonstrates the Japanese fans' love affair with Aerosmith and their music.

TomsReviews, absolutely right. Aerosmith was essentially a local garage band that succeeded through raw ambition. In the early 70's, there were thousands of bands that started out just like Aerosmith. The vast majority of them didn't make it. The fact that their 1971 lineup is identical to their 2021 lineup blows me away. (Btw, you have to wonder, if John Bonham hadn't died in 1980, would Led Zeppelin have made it all the way to 2021 with their original lineup?)

@@dodgecrockett3474 That’s the truth! Their first rehearsal space outside their apartment building was the basement of my BU dorm at West Campus 1. It was a nice new 12 story building and, even in my room at the opposite end, 1224, could not be “free” of them once they started jamming out. Partly, it echoed up the elevator shaft like a giant speaker, but, mainly, they played LOUD! 😁 I never saw them hold back or get “fussy”. Still, in the half dozen or so times I was down there watching them, there was never anyone else! Just me and the Bad Boys from Boston. And they were cool guys. They just weren’t the typical BU student’s cup of tea❗️😀

Joe Perry still amazes and is one of the finest hard rock/heavy metal guitarists of his age. I can't believe he was only ranked at #84 out of 100 on Rolling Stone's chart of greatest guitarists of all time. He was in his mid-60s when this video was made. Might be their best song and the into on this live version is EPIC! The talk box leading into the drop of the beat/drums, followed by the guitar and Steven busting in. WOW! If you don’t have goosebumps by :55 and through 1:20....you must be dead inside then. Sweet Emotion Indeed! Fng ROCKS !!!! 💪🤘

I've always been a big Joe Perry guy. He epitomizes rock an roll guitar. His riffs. Style. An the way he moves on stage. You can tell he still loves what he doing to this day. He brings serious energy to his performance. This band is a classic American rock an roll band.

Something else -- Joe's technical skill is better now than it was in the '70s. For example, he does faster picking in some of his live stuff of the past 15 or 20 years than I ever heard him do on the classic studio albums, and he plays around with scales other than the good ol' pentatonic blues box. Either he practiced a lot in recent years, or he was always that good and the drugs just held him back.

They dressed like us . That didn't hurt either No hair salons or dress rehearsals. That taste continued The next was the tragically hip. Lost another front man Good one too Our other favorite Tom petty That's three for three Now I'm a little weary. Enough time for honourable mention. Led Zeppelin. Queen.
