SM 슬슬 맛탱이 갔다고 생각하고 있었는데 이번 에스파 앨범엔 SM의 헤리티지가 담겨있음 광야? 그래 세계관 좋지 근데 팬들과 달리 일반인이나 리스너들은 귀랑 눈에 완성도 높은 돈냄새를 때려박아주는 그 SM이 좋은거거든 그냥 비주얼이랑 사운드, 무대가 눈에 알차게 들어오는게 진짜 너무 오랜만이다

에스파같은 그룹이 있어야 케이팝의 큰 강점인 다양성이 살아나는 거임. 모든 그룹이 다 이지리스닝에 청량만 하면 듣기에 당장은 좋겠지만 그룹마다 차별화가 있겠나? 하이퍼팝을 기반으로 쇠맛을 맛있게 버무려주는 팀은 에스파밖에 없음. 원래 김치찌개 안 좋아하면서 굳이 김치찌개 집에 와서는 김치찌개 맛 없다고 하면서 맛있게 먹는 사람들한테까지 뭐라 하지 말고 다른 찌개 집 가길 바람.

이 뮤직비디오 자체가 그룹을 잘 만들었다는 증거임. 잘 보면 사이버네틱, 펑키한 컨셉에 다른 컨셉들과 약간의 옛날 감성, 에스파만의 요소가 녹아들어 있음. 이런 복합적인 컨셉을 소화하려면 결국 그룹 자체의 외모 합, 목소리 합, 춤선, 분위기가 조화를 이루면서 서로 묻히지 않아야 하는데, 멤버들과 SM의 재능과 노력으로 그것을 이루어냈음. 유튜브의 AI 커버를 보면 에스파의 목소리가 어울리지 않는 곡을 찾기 힘들 정도임. 본인들의 재능과 노력, 팬덤이 충분하다면 대중의 눈치를 보는 게 아니라 본인들이 하고 싶은 것을 할 수 있다는 걸 보여주는 케이스라고 할 수 있다. 굳건한 초동 1위 기록이 증명하고 있음.

i feel like this is becoming sm’s stamp by now! exo also had an alien theme that later turned into a galactic war theme, nct has a tech-punk e-boy theme, and reve has an eerie doll theme. i love these slightly unsettling undertones in their concepts. and the non-human aspect gives them so much room for exploration and creativity. sm might be a shitty company but they snatch the best artists and put them in the best concept groups for sure!
