They are very close, not just like family but they are also close as friends. Like many kpop groups have family like bond with each other but won't necessary be friend if not for the group but aespa are friends. The reason why aespa have such a close friendship is simple, they were lucky as they share so many interests/likes with each other. They have the same preference in food, they all love shopping, etc.

they already known each other long time as trainees before debut. you can find a lot of old school photos of winter and karina together. they were so cute and smol! only giselle came in later but when giselle joined they clicked immediately so they are all close.

nah she's just not supposed to speak much because it's required that winter and karina speak more so they can gather more views and fans. ningning is seen as not “visually appealing” and is disregarded by fans, so they try and keep her in the background so she doesn’t interfere with the image of the group. yeah, pretty sad but that’s how it is in k-pop.
