you needed to do a disconnection test first on low pressure side..wait for boson alarm when o2 pressure drops..then check full range of gas flows anti hypoxic ratio ie 1:3 o2/N20 as well as confirm minimal basal flow of 300mls/min. then with hoses disconnected check high pressure side..close cylinders and check gauge pressure does not drop, thus confirming absence of leaks in line. finally purge gas from line to zero gauges on high pressure line...etc etc

For those looking to test out using the FDA guideline, this is not the appropriate order and there are missing details. Overall it is a decent guide to assist with some steps.

pressure of gas coming from has to have lower PSI that of the pipeline so it is 45 psi

You should do a demo of somebody under anesthesia and what they go through with this machine.

this is very helpful, but what about checking the high pressure system by disconnecting the pipelines? is that not necessary? I'm only a month into my program and i'm just trying to learn.

Hi Dixyf, Although that is a great habit and technique to do (which I do myself), it is not part of the ASA Pre-Anesthetic Check out procedures.
