We are absolutely pumped for this build. This Power Wagon went up 3" on the ‪@AmericanExpeditionVehicles‬ (AEV) Conversions kit. We went with the ‪@black.rhino.wheels‬ Armory 20x9.5" and 37x12.50 ‪@bfgoodrichtires‬ KM3s. The horsepower department is helped out by this ‪@ProChargerSuperchargers‬ and Intercooler Kit

I love the build, AEV has this smoking sale right now 1k off their 4 inch lift. Now I'm going with AEV for the Suspension, Mesa Wheels, & their Snorkel on 35s wrapped in ProComp's A/Ts and Expedition One, and Diamondback HD Cover. for my 2017 Ignition Orange Ram with the Rebel Trim package. Oh and the LRAM 50 Gal Tank and Airlift 5000.

If you were around trucks so much, would have highly suggested the engineer savvy axle gear ratios changed properly for the tires. But most don't. So now the already extra torque loading the driveline with bigger tires now further exaggerated by the extra torque engine output.

If I did intake and exhaust on my 2018 power wagon would it wake it up a lil ? Do they make a tunner for it as well ? Truck feels like it is a lil weak on throttle. You think this would help?

I have the same truck, 18 power wagon, same color. I'd like more horse and thought twin turbo or supercharger. I just saw a video that said pistons could crack because rings are set high on pistons. I'd like 700hp. I have stock 28 tires and would like a little lift. I'm a responder and don't want to loose my cornering ability. Can you help me?

Sweet build!!! i was thinking of doing this set up in my next truck.. BUT i have a 2013 8 speed 1500 now and i just got back from a trip with my boat and i netted a whopping 7 mpg, now the gas cost doesn't bother me but the amount of times i have to stop for gas is killing me. So i was thinking that i wanted a power wagon because i like the suspension and the lightness of the hemi but the mpg on that truck is going to be so bad. I also think if you went AEV it would offset that heavy diesel motor (for offroad use). So in the end i think I'm going with a diesel for these reasons 1. i like to look at my trip computer and see a lot of miles and a high mpg (comparatively) 2. better towing 3. better resale 4. MORE POWER and a turbo 5. usable payload... also i have looked at the procharger but it is going to be just a little less than the diesel option and the power doesn't really kick in on the curve until you hit those high RPM so I'm guessing there will still be a lot of down shifts to 5-6k especially with those big tires.

How heavy is your boat? I get about 12 mpg towing hwy with my dump trailer holding around 1-2 tons of junk in it so overall 8-10k total trailer weight. That's doing 65mph as well in 5th gear, my truck has 3.73's and it doesn't like 6th it keeps hunting for gears so I drop it in 5th and it sits at 2k rpm and all my temps are just fine my trans temp sits at about 175 to 185 or so maybe closer to 200 when it's hot but within normal range

Question: why did you run a procharger over a turbo system? Honest question not trolling just curious. I am thinking about putting turbo (twin or single) on my power wagon.

@@SoCoCustoms to save money on build to avoid doing internal forging. Ok that makes since. Thanks for the reply now I might run a procharger to save money before doing my turbo now thanks. I love the 5th gen PW’s but I don’t want a 6.4L hemi. It’s already terrible on gas esp with a 3/4 ton truck and then add the 37s it’s gona be thirsty. I’m contemplating the 2013 PW with the 5.7L hemi and 4.56 gears. I feel like that setup will be more economical not to mention I can buy it used for $20k and then adding the AEV Prospector system to it for another $10k becomes affordable...

Call AEV about regearing PW. They have a lot of experience with Ram. They regear cummins a lot.

The truck 6.4 handles forced induction better than the srt 6.4 found in the cars but you dont want to take them above 550 without addresing internals.

Supercharger on the ram 2500 p/w is forced air, which is bad for the ram and will need forged interior for the engine for it to survive. A procharger does not change the in flow of the air. And it really helps keeing the vitality and durability of the engine. Procharger is the choice. Jst honest!!!!!!

@@bOOSTEDjOSH the internals will do fine running low boost, most importantly tuning plays the biggest part of how the engine will hold up. Bad tuning will kill a forged motor just as fast. Get a good custom dyno tune and that will keep the engine running good for a long time.

You can add them as an option but without that it is the bench. With a bench you you the floor shifter for the transfer case, electronic shift transfer case if you order the bucket seats plus you end up with the center console.

Hopefully guys know by now, you don't need any lift for 37's on even the stock and heavier front end 6.7 2500. These guys definitely should have already known.

The power wagon with the 6.4 hemi already gets not good gas mileage 10/15. That is with 33s. What is the mpg with 37s. Has to be single digits. Did you have to re gear the transmission? How do the 37s affect the off road ability. Does it affect the disconnecting sway bars?

@@SoCoCustoms What did they say? I believe AEV's approach is to have the truck function and feel as stock OEM level as possible. Some people criticize them for it but I like that approach.

Any updates min how this truck is driving, durability wise? I’m very surprised more people aren’t pro charging their PWs. This one of the only examples on KZfaq. I’d live to do this!

I have a 2018 Power Wagon, never crossed my mind to get a Diesel. Only need a diesel if you are towing alot. Other wise it is not worth the extra for fuel or upkeep.

Diesels have less "up keep" than gas motors and get better mileage lol. Compare your power wagon mpg to the diesel counter part. The question is do you unhook that front sway bar or tow more?

@@LT4Nova You got to unhook the sway bar when you are wheeling. I tow a 27' RV trailer to MOAB or Grand Canyon then I disconnect. They may get better mileage but a Power Wagon is a better off roading than a Diesel. That is why I bought a gas truck. If you tow heavy shit then a diesel is the right truck. if you are just running around town with low profile tires rolling coal then that is a waste of a truck. Gas is cheaper than diesel plus that Def crap which is super old technology to put on a new truck. With all that said, nothing like a 4 wheel tire smoking Diesel burnout and then run a low 10 in a 1/4 ...that is Power right there.

ukau idk if I agree with you regarding the diesels having less upkeep. Every time you touch a Diesel engine even for an oil change it’s near $200. The hemi is a super reliable motor that can easily give u 250k hard miles. Just give that baby full synthetic oil it’s whole life and she’ll be happy. My only pet peeve is the low teens gas mileage but to have a badass rig that everyone can’t stop staring at and can take you up a mountain offroad and show up in style with the fam to a restaurant there ain’t many trucks that can do it better.

@@amolinari9 The oil change interval on a hemi is 2x the interval on a cummins, look it up. I change my own oil but when I didn't, I paid $99 for an oil change on my 6.7 at the local dealership. So the oil changes are actually cheaper throughout the life of the engine. Now initial cost is where you will take the biggest hit, but service, I dont think so. When you take mpg and the potential for power and mpg increase with tuning, the diesel is light years ahead.

This thing is super super nice, all before the comments he should of got a Cummins instead, a lot of people like the power wagon, and got the money for a 2018 and a pro charger, so easily could get a Cummins, but the 6.4 got some power and sounds amazing with an exhaust.

6.4 is literally the most over rated engine for the size..... 10 years and its still making the same power with some of the shittiest MPGs out there. Maybe if it made more than 20 ft lbs of tq more than a 5.7 in a truck that didnt weigh 2500 lbs more than one with a 5.7 than it might be worth mentioning but it tows less, is slower, drinks a shit ton more fuel to do what??? Have a a few more inches of ground clearance and a disconnecting sway bar..... oh wait, thats why they have the rebel. Procharge a rebel, throw the same 37x11.5 BFG tires and a with the money saved on gas a legit lift kit and you are running circles around the power wagon. Literally the same cab, you only get a different hood, bumper and grill. Nice try though.

Power Wagon gives you lockers front and rear, 1 ton axles (wont break like the half ton rebel will with 37's), a 12k pound winch, and the 6.4 which has been around for going on 6 years, not 10, may only peak about 20ft-lbs more, but its all about the area under the curve. The 6.4 makes more torque and horsepower down low than the smaller 5.7, which is what is important. Sounds like you bought the wrong truck and wanna justify your purchase.

@Yoon Jun I don't need to change your mind as you've already made it up. The only thing I can do is point out the following facts: For offroad purposes, the Cummins doesn't make sense purely based on the weight of the engine alone. The Power Wagon handles better in every aspect, and with a lot of the 2.5"+ diameter King/Fox suspension options from Thuren and Carli, you're going to get closer to Ford Raptor style performance with the 6.4 than the massive Cummins, which is a lot of fun. Beyond that, lockers and a winch are not easily added afterwards by Joe Blow. He's either going to have to pay someone to do it, or be well versed in the art of gear sets, and either route is costly. A winch on a Cummins requires an aftermarket bumper that typically hangs way off the front of the truck being as it has to set the winch far enough ahead to clear the massive cooling system. I much prefer the factory option the Power Wagon provides which sets the winch behind the stock bumper. And the modular Thuren bumper works with it as well, without the doofy under-bite look that the winch-capable bumpers for a Cummins have. You say a Power Wagon is for lazy people with cash. The Power Wagon is cheaper than a comparably equipped Cummins, and has all the offroad bells and whistles, new. Used market is fairly comparable because the Wagons are a unique model, but are still a bit cheaper or clock a lot fewer miles for the money. If Ram had sourced the 5.0l V8 Cummins that Nissan uses for the Power Wagon, that might have made sense, but even that engine weighs considerably more than the 6.4. I've driven trucks on both sides of the line, and I own a 2016 Power Wagon on 37's with 2.5" Kings from Thuren. I wouldn't trade my Power Wagon for a similarly equipped Cummins. If I needed to tow on a daily basis, a Cummins or other diesel truck would be added to the stable. For the towing that I do now, though, my Wagon gets the job done just fine, and rides better to boot. And DIY builds are great...but in reality you are probably talking about the kind of "builds" that are just bolt-ons. Kinda' hard to have a "built, not bought" mentality, if your build consists only of a few pre-made, bolt-on parts that you...*ahem*...bought. Diesels are over-rated.

Far from a Prospector. You forgot to mention that you also have to buy 2500 gas springs to keep geometry correct. PW comes factory 2 inch lift and does not work with AEV kit....Changes payload and towing capacity. Don’t take my word for it. Just ask Dave at AEV...

Thank you! I have a 2016 Wagon with almost every AEV part on it and they wouldn't sell me the Badges to go with.They are very particular about their product. It only ends up being 1" higher over factory but handles on and off road much better. Factory wagon coils are way too soft for the trucks weight, once you add beefier bumpers and extra winches etc. Mine weighs 4200kgs hahaha
