AEV Snorkel Install: Jeep Gladiator Complete Step-By-Step Guide

This is my unofficial step-by-step guide to installing the AEV snorkel on a Jeep Gladiator. I share what steps I took and how they differed from the AEV instructions. Overall the install was smooth. Plan on a 4-hour install unless you don't use RTV silicone. I HIGHLY recommend cutting the bezel template on the INSIDE of the black line and not the outside as I did in the video. If you over-trim the hood you won't be able to use all rivets.

They say that you cannot install these on a Mojave version due to the different style hood. Do you really see a limiting factor here? I get that the cover to go over the cut sheet metal is not likely to fit due to the different shape. However I would think one could come up with a homemade custom solution for that. I am just wondering if the snorkel itself would fit fine.

Do you know where can I found one for a 3.0 eco-diesel jeep gladiator the intake and airbox is on the left side of the vehicle

From the research I did, the aftermarket consensus is there isn't enough demand to justify producing one.

So are there still open holes on bottom of air box?? And if so can they be sealed up.

There are a few holes in the bottom of the airbox the diameter of a pencil. I wouldn't plug them- they're drains.

Oddly, yes. The snorkel rumbles like a sporty exhaust. Because I have the pre-filter, it's like I have a speaker pointing down that plays exhaust noises.

I think I'll just go with the Rugged Ridge snorkel. A LOT less invasive.

rugged ridge is much more restrictive and more points of failure. i would also consider what will happen to that high pipe in rugged ridge at 90mph without extra bracket on the pillar.... for the purpose this setup is better in my opinion. cutting hood is not a big deal, just take it slow. now possibility of water getting in the pillar through these extra holes and causing rust over time, that is something I am not crazy about at all.
