I saw this match in person. To have the whole arena cheer “CM Punk!” Before and during the entrance was amazing! To see Punk wrestle in person it’s definitely worth your money! AEW is the best! Everyone performed well!

Seen him wrestle at Grand Slam, his first televised match, against Powerhouse Hobbs. It would be an understatement to say the place came unglued. Also got to see him promo battle MJF in person, absolutely electric there too. I'm glad he's back and killing it in AEW

CM Punk & Bryan Danielson matches are always top notch, there are not in the same league as these other AEW matches. I always used to think Punk was overrated in-ring performer, but ever since he came back, he proved me wrong, and gladly so. His matches now flow way better than before his retirement. Also, they tell much more compelling story.

I like the dives as much as a classic style wrestling match. People tend to think AEW is all flips and dives but the truth is they provide a variety. There's something for everybody in AEW.

Mmm. I like Excalibur a lot, but this was a bit of a swing and a miss for him. It's been well established in canon that Punk has his eyes on the World Title, no need to feign question marks about the TNT Title or the Tag Team Titles. All in all, I don't have a lot of critiques with AEW, so not a big issue, just a small detail that didn't quite land on commentary.

Dax is so underrated honestly, people think about FTR when talking about him, but he is an awesome singles wrestler too who could be a champion easily. This match was almost 5 star match to me, Punk didn't even have to carry him.. He also looked strong even in defeat. This is why I love AEW, they never seem to stop surprising me! 🔥🔥

AEW seems to only cater to the wrestling mark audience. I know wrestling isn't as mainstream as it once was 25 years ago. Unfortunately i dont see them growing their audience a whole lot outside wrestling diehards already watching.

While a Cole vs. Punk vs. Page would be insanely good. Those are always No DQ's and the Bucks blah blah Bucks, would interfere, Sting and Darby show up.... too much chaos? Don't count your chickens. I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually Punk vs Cole. It makes no sense for Cole and Hangman to have a rematch just to have Hangman win again. He already won. That's why when the Bryan program went to two matches, they drew, and then Hangman won and the feud was over. Here, Hangman has already conquered Cole so arriving at the exact same conclusion makes a rematch pointless.

@@VazmanianDeviI This has nothing to do with "should". I'm not talking about what they should do, I'm talking about what they most likely "will" do. I agree that Cole should've never been in this feud but he's in this feud and that's how it is. If Hangman was going to beat Cole at the end of this feud, then the logical conclusion to the last PPV would've been either a draw, or some kind of finish where Hangman wins but it's under circumstances that for reasons outside of his control were controversial, IE, somebody hit Cole with an object and Hangman didn't see it, something to make Hangman have to conquer Cole on his own. He already DID it. The babyface conquered the heel, why do it again? That makes no narrative sense, the story was finished and you're just going back to it. The only way it makes sense is if Cole wins the title and becomes a short term champion that drops it to Punk because for some reason they want Punk to beat a heel and not Hangman.

@@mrhappyfolger2721 I don't think you understand what the term "buried" means. "Buried" is making your opponent look weak and ineffectual. "Buried" is taking someone who's super over, with a ton of momentum, and beating them in a way that negatively affects their legitimacy as main event level talent, in the eyes of fans. Does any of that sound like the guy who let Wardlow power-bomb him 8 times? John Cena ran right through people for more than a decade. CM Punk spends most of the time in his matches making his opponents look better than him.

But when it comes to CM Punk that his fanbase likes his wrestling skills and promos. Even though John Cena is Mr Missionary and doesn't change anything about himself and that is pathetic. They think it's about their team work that makes him good, but he is actually awesome in singles matches too.. Can easily go against a legend and have arguably 5 star match, maybe little under 5, without the opponent carrying the whole match.. I hope people will now see how great he is

@@ISeenmyDreams999 Punk holding the championship too long is bad for business. One thing these newer stars like MJF and Page don't have is that they cannot make a belt yet, the belt makes them. They are over and we love them. However, think back to what Miz did for the IC title, or what Triple H did for the WHC back in the day. Punk would make a 7-9 month run with that thing feel amazing.

The more MJF screws guys like Punk over the better IMO. I have no problem with his defenses being clean to legitimize the reign however.

I love how Punk was judging the audience reaction. They didn't all understand the Hangman reference, so he did the champion belt motion. The reactions were mixed so he went to the turnbuckle and did it again, to a louder pop once people realized what he was saying.

With MJF mentioning a 3rd match & Punk doing the belt hand gesture I am calling it now by DoN Punk will be AEW Champion. Then either at Full Gear or Revolution next year we'll get that 3rd match with MJF reaching maximum stardom by beating Punk for that title their saga will culminate with that hopefully next week we'll here from Punk confirming he got his sights set on The AEW Title this match with him & Harwood was good to watch.

True, but Max will probably have a programme with Wardlow. He will be putting Wardlow over. So will be hard to see MJF getting a title shot coming off a loosing batte against Wardlow.

@@MrAdoburke We might have to wait a long time till Max becomes champion. He is great in AEW but he has been protected by the Pinnacle for most of the time. Wardlow shud be put over and Max shud one day disband the Pinnacle and walk by himself, gain even greater momentum that way and THEN become the AEW World Champion. Problem is his contract's over in 2024 and will he stay in AEW or not we dk.

Harwood and wheeler are one of the few actually great wrestlers in AEW along with punk and Danielson, so it was no surprise this match was quality

Sone of the Dark Order spots from the past few weeks have been Cabana-less, and the story of Hangman and his band of misfit friends vs. a lonely Punk is kind of a fascinating one to tell even if you do stay far away from the Second City Saints thing

This match was so awesome. Dax Harwood is just so good, every singles outing he's had in AEW has impressed me a lot, so him in the ring with someone like Punk was gonna be a winner for sure. Some of those nearfalls were absolutely crazy. The only criticism I have of this match, and it happened with 2 different people tonight, is Dax used the Sharpshooter. The only person who should be using that move in AEW right now is Sting. Don't bury a legend's finisher please. It shouldn't just be a transition, it should be the end of the match.

@@itiw I mean, of course, but the problem is that move is someone else's finisher on the show. It would be different if Sting wasn't active on the card. I just don't like when people use other people's finishing moves as regular moves for minimal effect. Especially a legend like Sting Dax is a little more trustworthy with this sort of thing, but I forget who the other person was who used it that same night, who used it the way most people use it these days, as a transition or a rest hold, which totally takes away from the power of the move, which even if Sting wasn't on the roster still annoys me.

I haven’t played the new wrestling games, but a few wrestlers should have a perk called “Iron Will.” This will allow only the most resilient of superstars to keep going and kick out of the craziest moves. Stars like Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, Undertaker, The Rock.

I think all the "Elite" I mean Literally the Elite wrestlers should hold the AEW world title atleast once or Twice, Mox and Y2J already got it, Hangman is the current champ, Omega already got one, Cole, Bryan, Punk, Christian should get the title in the months to come, as far as storytelling is concern AEW always delivers, As for Darby, Sammy, Wardlow, MJF, Jungle boy they all get the Title in the Years to come
