Just found your channel, I myself am getting into detailing...what I did as cheap fix for filtered water is use a RV Filter I have the Camco one it's $15 and it makes a noticable difference.

@@HaiTran As long as the weather is good, I enjoy washing. Drying not so much. My last car was a C7, white ragtop. I spend hours on that thing, all for it to stay clean for five minutes when it would start to rain or get foggy, LOL

I generally only keep one car around for myself nowadays and daily drivers are definitely difficult to keep clean especially if you live in a wet environment.

This in and of itself can allow you to increase your detailing prices. Due to the effectiveness that comes with the time constraints of blowing.

Thanks for this video , super helpful. If my car doesn’t have a special coating, would the blow dryer still be useful? I’ve seen in many videos that people only use the dryer on cars that have special coatings.

If you plan to have absolutely no coating, nothings going to help you. Even a towel wouldn’t be of much help. Any coating is going to be better than nothing when it comes to drying. You don’t necessarily need the best coating, just something known to be decent.

helpful vid! does the car need to have a good wax job for this to work effectively? like if the water is not beading on the surface like it is on your car?

For it to be effective, yes. Without any form of paint protection, nothing's going to be of big help. Not even paper towels.

Good stuff man. With all the dryers you have reviewed, where does this one stack up? I can spend $350 if it’s worth it for the 8 hp units, but if this is almost as good then I’ll give it a go. I do have Epic ceramic coating on my Supra You’ve got a lot of good video with good editing, I think your channel is going to grow. Keep up the good work!

It just depends on what you’re looking for. Obviously 8hp is more than 4hp. But 8hp units also cost twice as much. So ask yourself if you want power or save money.

I have to use a smaller version due to the larger circuit breaker needed. A standard 15 amp outlet will not provide enough power, but that's all I have. The smaller units work well but take much longer.

Nice video. Chemical Guys just came out with a blower called ProBlow. It’s pretty good and doesn’t cost much. I think it cost like $85 and it’s specific to drying cars.

I’ve never been a fan of the handheld blowers. I find them inconvenient without a hose.

I have the problower. It is awful. You are better off drying the car with a towel. You’ll finish faster.

Performance and time wise, is a shop-vac used with the blowing side would be that less efficient?

I’ve never tried but can only assume that unless you through a couple turbos on the shopvac, the blow side will be pretty weak. It’ll probably work but not exactly efficient.

Would you still need to dry with a towel and maybe some drying aid or does the blower remove all the little water spots as well?

The blower is suppose to replace the other forms of drying but depending on the condition of your car’s surface, it may not remove all the water. Also, water can still linger in between out of reach crannies that the dryer won’t always be able to reach.

So my question is...when hard water evaporates from blow drying it...what happens to the calcium and all the other minerals? Don't they stay on the paint? Minerals don't evaporate do they? That means you would still have to follow up with either detail spray or spray sealant to wipe away the minerals. Am I wrong?

You are right, but if you're blow drying the car the way you're thinking, you might as well not do it at all. The point is to blast the water off so it doesn't dry on the surface. Sure some of the water may dry because of the heat, but the heat is so minimal that you pretty much have to keep the air constant on one spot and keep the water from moving so that it dries on that one spot. In short, it's more carelessness than anything.

How would you compare this to the adam’s air cannon one that you have? Is the adam’s one worth the price?

That depends on what you’re looking for. This has a slight bit more power but the Adam’s has convenience in the longer hose and wheels. To me, that’s more important.

I am gonna try tape a drinks bottle nozzle to the end of an old hair drier and see how it works as basically a free car drier 😁

@@HaiTran haha, I didn't trial run and didn't work too bad at all, not good for large arears but all the edges, groves and wheels it blew the water out really well. For free it ain't bad

I’ve sold this dryer since this video. Not because it didn’t perform well but because I’ve been trying to find the best for the price. So far, this is still the most powerful that I’ve tried for the price. You should check out some of my other car dryer reviews on this channel. They might help you out.

I prefer high power car dryers so something with a little over 1HP would be close to useless to me.
