We are a 6 figure income couple and had very little saved and not much cash lying around the preverbal". '...don't have $500 for an emergency" that was us. The big thing was debt all kinds of it, cars mortgage (although our home isn't a high price one), student loans for our kids, and of course credit cards. One day we just got sick of being broke and went total scorched earth and became frugal overnight. Paid it all off, it took almost 5 years but now we have no debt and this year our savings rate is 50% on basically the same income that had us perpetually broke. So for us it is mainly staying out of debt and watching our spending, at first it was a real effort to save in our HISA and 401Ks but now it's actually fun watching our money grow. No car or vacation or neighborhood is worth being broke or financially unstable.

These ladies in their minivans have Vanlife dialed. The simplicity and aesthetics outshines many fully built Sprinters. Their fortitude and perseverance often exceeds that of younger folks too.

Jan, my favorite towel ever is Ikea's waffle towel. So thin, but so thirsty! And dries so fast that it doesnt get stinky. The washcloth is a little bigger so i can grab the opposite corners to scrub my back, even with my old, sore shoulders. Also, they have a loop for hanging! I hate those polyester microfiber ones!

I camped years ago in CO, NM, AZ and UT for two weeks in a truck camper with three men, a great uncle, husband and a brother. Some years later I camped in a tent with a husband, a 9 y/o son and 7 y/o daughter. We camped for two weeks in SD, WY, MT, MN. I have been handicapped since I was 23 months old, I am now 75-1/2 y/o. I do have a bug zapper that Ive successfully killed bugs with. Of course they were Connecticut bugs so I might still need the heavy duty artillery. 😄 I love your fireplace heater. I will be 74 in a couple weeks and you are an inspiration. I am very tempted to get the fireplace for our sprinter RV but am more interested in the beautiful tablecloth. I've scoured the internet to no avail. That made me happier than any other product. Might you share where you found it? FYI Jan & others. I use & love SOAP NUTS / ECO NUTS for laundry . One box lasted me over 2 years ! They last lots longer that the directions even says ! Took about 6 in one little muslim bag to Tahiti on my 18 day retreat & shared with my Bungalow mate there. Still had plenty of use left after that trip. Nothing else needed exceot my wool dryer balls & few drops of essential oils ! No toxins for me .
