wet and wild has a single shadow called Panther that is a dupe for Carbon. it's really soft and really really black! it's only $1.50 :)

I'm just getting started on real grown up make up. My mom passed away when I was younger and so I never really had someone to teach me makeup and never really wore it until my senior year of highschool but people like you on KZfaq have taught me so much and I now live on my own for college and these dupes videos are AWESOME, I'm on a college budget and still learning. Ok again I'm on a video binge with all your dups videos. Can't say Thank you enough for taking the time out to show us all this. Your my favorite and this is one of the reasons. I really feel like you try your best and take alot of time out of your day to help us to save money or for those that may want the makeup that's in the higher end price mark but just doesn't have the money to buy it. I know this is an old video, but thank you so much for making these dupe videos!!! I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to makeup, and well since I just recently started wearing more of it I'm going through a phase where I just want high end and best of the best products (such as benefit, mac, urban decay etc) and they're obviously not cheap so now that you listed all these I can look for them. I know this video is almost five years old, but I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work to find affordable dupes for those of us who can't or won't spend the money for high-end products. Also, I ADORE your eye look in this video! Could you do a tutorial for something similar? It's exactly the type of look I'd like to master.

this was a great video! Great job with all the hard work that went into this! I love your videos... they are so informative. I love make up videos, but I feel like a lot of people don't give a lot of the 'whys' and more in-depth reasons for their opinions and techniques. I love that those things are fundamental in your videos and that, to me, makes you and indispensable "KZfaqr".

I'm not at all surprised you found so many dupes for MAC in NYX. A guy who worked @ Ulta told me NYX is made by MAC! I'd go as far as to say it's a joke on the consumers who'll only buy MAC. They're being "duped". ^_^

Hm, I doubt it because Estée Lauder is MAC's parent company, not NYX's. It's not uncommon for smaller brands to purposely "dupe" popular products from larger brands. Still, the same quality and ingredients rarely ever go into all products produced for different brands by the same company (although they often make more "economical" versions). I'm curious about Urban Decay and Milani though. Divamakeupqueen compared some lip and eye products and they looked exactly the same, had the same ingredients down to the list, were packaged similarly, and performed the same. UD was recently bought by L'oreal but I have no idea if they were maybe owned by the same parent company before.

***** Estee Lauder now owns NYX. BTW often these companies use the exact same manufacturer anyway, just slapping on diff labels and picking whichever colours they prefer.

Okay, I see that MAC's shades can be found cheaper by other brands but what about the quality? I have MAC pigments and they are better than any other brand's product, they last from moring till evening and hold their beautiful colors. And what about ingrediendts? It is sad that healthier foods are more expensive than less healthier ones, so I think the same can be with cosmetics. I do not want to know what contains an eye-shadow for only 1 dollar. brr..

You are forgetting that a lot of that is brand cost. Those products that MAC sells aren't that much better than cheaper ones. North face makes clothing, they are ridiculously overpriced. You can find a shirt that costs under$5 and is same exactly quality if not better than north face brand. Don't get fooled by the fact that higher end always means better. Some do offer great products, but a chunk of what they charge goes toward branding, not quality. Same with "healthier" foods. Organic may have less pesticides on them, but they still do and where they grow is polluted as well. Air contains pollution which ends up in the ground/water-and ends up contaminating product. Cheaper does not always mean poor quality. And she did a great job at showing dupes. I personally wouldn't pay $14 for one eye shadow, that's nuts. Because they all contain same crap in them. As long as its not old its pretty much same chemicals with a different tag on it.

OhJay Agree 100% OhJay. And it's fun to find the dupes, I've purchased quite a few in this video and 4 out the 6 in the lipstick video. Emily did a great job, I'm so happy I stumbled upon her videos. I am having trouble finding the NYX Rock & Roll Trio, maybe discontinued. If you've found this or something comparable please let me know. Have a great weekend!

Mac doesn't even have healthy ingredients either, and mac tests on animals . Also, my wet n wild shadows are so comparable to my mac shadows

HeyItsPey Agree with you, while MAC does have great products like their lipsticks, blushes etc.....not taking anything away from MAC. However I have a hard time wearing their shadows. And no problem with Wet n Wild. Plus the animal testing is a huge deal for me.

I got "Walking on Eggshells" from Wet and Wild the other day, and noticed that the lid shade was a perfect match for my favorite MAC shadow, Naked Lunch! Glad to see someone else noticed the similarities! It is amazing how nice the Wet and Wild shadow goes on and stays on!

In the WnW Petal Pusher palette, the top right shade is a dupe for MAC Phloof! In the WnW Comfort Zone palette, the bottom left shade is a dupe for MAC Smut. And also, Covergirl Brown Smolder is a dupe for MAC Espresso. Just my little addition to this awesome video!

Vanessa I know I’m SUPER late commenting, but I’m almost positive you can still get this shade. The single eyeshadow from Wet n Wild in the shade “Nutty” is an exact dupe for Mac’s Satin Taupe. I own them both and swatched, you can’t tell the difference between the 2. 😊😊😊
