USSR & America destroyed Afghanistan. As for Pakistan, they were blackmailed by U.S through to help Taliban grow. Later, those Taliban turned back on Pakistan. Moreover, Zia also destroyed Pakistan's liberal values which never full recovered since then. Only Musharraf was successful in bringing liberalism back but only partially. That's why we can breathe in Pakistan but Afghans cannot breathe because they dont have any ruler who can reverse these laws. In the end, it was a big mess created by U.S and USSR; and its effects are still felt in Afghanistan and Pakistan. What a tragedy!
