There are other factors to consider such as heat, sweat, how much energy you're exerting, and for the most part, the environment in America is very suitable and I wouldn't think the average American exerts much energy. But really, all humans would probably die in around 3 days without water and if you're lucky, you might survive 4 or 5, but this is the exception, not the rule. Water is incredibly vital and it makes up 65% of a person's body. Water is quite frankly even more important than food. Gandhi starved himself for over 21 days but he certainly drank water, and he's not an American.
