just played my first game with the new patch. defiently see and feel the difference in game play. Handballs are very smooth and more accurate than before. Can actually use it near ball ups, stoppages and crowded areas to get out. Like that the forwards actually lead now plus can find players in space. No longer having to jjst bomb the ball in and hope for the best. Even used spoils and didnt get burt by my opponent. Tackling still a slight problem and opponent kicking straight goals and no behinds even when i have pressure on them. Overall game is better and wish this was what was released at vame lauch.

The patch is great. Don't expect miracles and you might be pleasantly surprised.

The game is still disgustingly bad considering the price point and it’s had a year of updates. Every update they fix issues and create brand new ones. The only people defending it are anyone that have any chance to benefit from the game. The best thing about the game is the ball movement by foot feels really fluid although that is really dependant on the cpu on your team moving well which is pretty rare. The whole cpu both on your team and the opposition is almost the worst part of the game. Midfielders don’t move down the ground when cpu opponent has the ball which is an issue from day one. Tackling has continued to be broken but every update for different reasons. Tackling is entirely different for the cpu and the controlled team. Cpu tackles perfectly everytime whilst half of the time my tackles are massively delayed so they can get their perfect everytime kick off. The umpiring (whilst feeling realistic with how bad real umpires are) is idiotic in this game, an instant tackle while trying to kick is holding the ball yet you can have the same situation tackling the cpu 3 times in a row in 5 seconds which results in nothing. Hand balling is far far better than from release but with the cpu tackling being ridiculously op it often won’t work. Hardest difficulty only makes the cpu amazing at marking, hitouts and impossible to miss goals, if you win the ball back and chip the ball around it is ridiculously easy. The cpu tends to play the game with different abilities, even a shot at goal which for the user takes a second for it to build up and be accurate, the cpu just instantly gets an accurate kick. There is so much wrong with this game which is made worse by the fact it’s been a year of patches and it’s still in this terrible state. Let alone the basic tactics, limited career mode which is the most basic management mode, 2007 had far far far more you could do. Another new issues they’ve created somehow ion management mode, the Brownlow is dominated by every single Rick for some reason. Barnett from west coast won a Brownlow lol. All of the generated drafted players have no cap to the generations, just completely random so 95% of rucks are 180cm tall. Anyone who loves footy should be offended by this game. It’s genuinely a joke and I’m thinking anyone apart of the development team haven’t seen another sports game before and nor have they ever seen a game of footy.

No training mode or free roam mode, no mini games no player career mode, no scenario mode, games still missing a lot

I just played a game and constantly get done holding the ball from a mark while trying to kick quickly and don’t know if it’s the timing but marking seems harder and running and kicking always tackles me even tho I let go of the kicking button way before they are even near me .

whats goin on with ball ups and throw ins? the ball is so static in the air. no rotation or anything. no issue with them going in a straigh path (for gameplay purpose) but give the ball some animation in the air

I find it very disappointing that there are quite limited editing options. Would be amazing if players from yesteryear could be added to the game - but try creating KB or Bruce Doull - the hair and player model options are wayyyyyy too limited.

Update still disappointing. Nerfed the torps. Some aspects like launching a shot for goal in the red still doesnt matter. Marking and Tackling still can be fixed...

After seeing your video I quickly hopped on the game to see, it is great but there is a bit of a downgrade. The tackles, when I get the mark I used to quickly kick it again so that it wouldn’t waste take going back, now I can’t do that anymore because then they tackle you and then it’s incorrect disposal.( now that I think about it, wouldnt it be 50?)

In settings you set hardest and it gives you hard please fix too easy on hard. Otherwise great work Big Ant awesome game.

The problem with this game are the controls, way too complicated, all the button configurations you need to remember in a split second doesn’t make it fun. Also, I loved the free aim in Evo2 so I could kick to space and watch them lead to the ball.

My son is 6 and loves the game and plays on easiest difficulty, but since the patch its actually heaps harder on easiest and the poor kid is upset he can't enjoy the game anymore

Game STILL lacks attention to detail. For example, I was playing an afternoon game at the Gabba I noticed the following. - Brisbane cheer squad at the wrong end of ground - Sun is setting in the opposite direction. - Broadcast side of the ground has been flipped. I know it’s similar at Gold Coast stadium as well.

The jumpers in this update and the crowd noices are good but the rest of this update has broken this game for me literally just had my first game with this update and didn’t even make it to quarter time till I raged and said fuck this then pulled the disk out of the console then proceeded to snap disk into pieces, am planning on boycotting future afl games till it isn’t big ant studios anymore which is probably never 😡🤬
