Don't act like WA hasn't hosted 6 other sides this season, and that half the teams who went to Queensland didn't do so to avoid coming to WA (like they do every season).

@@cameronglover7261 Fair shout. I wasn't aware of that! Honestly my main concern is that we know for a fact people in the east don't take the quarantine seriously enough. Do they really think that nobody from NSW or Vic will try to hop the border for the GF? They've done it for way less already

I feel like it’s a pretty easy decision, play west coast finals in wa and Brisbane finals in queensland

Just put the grand final wherever they can fit in the most crowds. And for finals, have all Victorian/NSW clubs choose where they play their "home" games wheater at Metricon Stadium or somewhere else.

WA deserves to host the first AFL Grand Final outside of Victoria. It's not just about where we'd see the best spectacle, that is certainly important, but AFL is huge in WA and the decision shouldn't just be about the last few months, it should be about the long term support of the AFL and WA have been integral to the AFL since 1987. The Eagles and Dockers have 140,000 members, while Brisbane and Gold Coast have 40,000. WA football fans deserve to host the GF and shouldn't be penalised because the state government where extra cautious with a pandemic!

Brisbane and Sydney have had sides in the AFL for over 35 years. They never fill there grounds, Port & Adelaide have the largest combined crowds outside Victoria... WTF let's reward the state that least support s the AFL?? If not Adelaide WA deserve it.

Absolutely, the AFL (really VFL) screwed all non Victorian clubs by locking in the MCG for the GF for the next 40 years. Here is the only chance in 40 years for a GF away from the MCG and they want to play it in rugby land. SA and WA just keep getting screwed by the VFL.

Play the grand final in Perth because more people will be there then Brisbane

Wider wings make for better grand finals. So it should be in WA. This is why the GF will never be played in Adelaide. I think also that eddies idea of a new stadium in Melbourne, could provide a more even competition. But if you build an mcg size stadium in port Adelaide, to host AFL and test cricket, 27 and a half thousand seats, it would achieve the same thing across the competition. With the exception of GWS.

What's the shape of the ground got to do with whether it would be a better Grand Final venue? Who really cares if one ground has got wider wings than another? If the Adelaide Oval can fill their stadium for an AFLW Grand Final then there would be no problem whatsoever filling it for the men's AFL Grand Final. The leaague's no. 1 priority is to fill the stadium, regardless of its size and shape.

Adelaide Oval. An awesome ground with a rich history. Don't have to worry about a 2.5 hour delay and still holds more than 50,000.

@MisterTeeBag You why is Adelaide Oval not an option? I'm not worried, I'm happy for the GF to be played at the MCG every year. If you'd been to the MCG when there's a crowd of 100000, you'd know why.

@MisterTeeBag You not sure where he's getting that from. I can't seem to find anything that would rule Adelaide out. Adelaide has just as much of a right to host the Grand Final as Perth.

2020 should be Adelaide or Perth - choosing Brisbane is not a "moral issue" as Caro tries to claim - It's purely a marketing ploy to get fans away from rugby. They by pass the morality every year of the MCG grand final ,unfairly discriminating against teams not based in Victoria.

@@peterschmidt1453 Adelaide or Perth should be the 2 main options, I agree. The supporters in Brisbane will only come out of the woodwork when their team is doing well, but for the rest of the time all that they ever talk about in both New South Wales and Queensland is rugby league. I know that for a fact, because I lived in Sydney for 2 months. Even when the Giants were doing well AFL barely got a mention there, and I'm sure that it was no different in Queensland when both the Lions and the Suns were struggling big time. South Australians and Western Australians are as passionate about Aussie Rules football as Victorians, and support their teams through thick and thin. If either Port Adelaide or West Coast were to earn the right to host the Grand Final this year then both states would thoroughly embrace it if it were played at either Perth Stadium or the Adelaide Oval.

I would love it to be decided by GF team ranking rather than by internal AFL politics, maybe play it up this year with 3 game decider.

I agree. Are people forgetting that Port Adelaide are currently sitting on top of the ladder and could finish minor premiers? If they then go on to win both their Qualifying and Preliminary Finals then they would have earned the right to host the Grand Final at the Adelaide Oval, therefore it should be played there.

@@SirHumphrey498 It's got nothing to do with changing the rules that best suit me. In nearly every other sporting competition in the world the team that earns the right to host the Grand Final gets to play it on their home ground or in their home stadium. Why should either Port Adelaide, West Coast, or Brisbane be denied this right in a season when the Grand Final is plainly obviously not going to be played at the MCG?

The only reason the Victorian media are pushing hard for finals in Brisbane is because the Lions are beatable in Brisbane. West Coast are unbeatable in Perth and the Victorian clubs like Richmond and Geelong will not win a GF in Perth. Further, if the GF is between West Coast v Richmond at the Gabba, it will be West Coast doing all the travel while Richmond don’t do any travel... again!!

Pulled the blinds and is now reaping the rewards for doing so. WA can have big crowds and Queensland can't. Lets have a GF with 4,000 in attendance rather than 60,000. Great idea.
