Stringers early goal was my personal fave. The crowd riding it home, then losing their minds once it went in. Must’ve been so good in person, made it look way too easy.

Amazing game, Essendon would have easily won if they were more accurate in front of goal, then again the Pies missed a heap of goals also. Bodes well for the Bombers this year! I'm a St.KIlda fan lol but love the Bombers.

@Matt.FlagPies23 most definitely. Seemed fitting result as sad as it is. Both teams looked to wanna win so bad that they weren’t taking their opportunity’s in that last quarter. Honestly like 10 times each team could’ve won. As a dons fan I don’t like Collingwood but yesterday was good. Loved the passion from both sides. Great footy, great crowd and banter. Ofcourse on the best most important day of the year. Woudlnt change anything. Great day for football

Extra time would honestly ruin the result if it was a thing. Neither team deseved the loss, the reaction from the crowd was something else after the siren. Itll be in their memories forever

Genuine question: why did the Collingwood player choose to play on instead of paying the mark and getting a free kick? I've seen kicks that happen after the siren

Very unhappy with Essendon making so many mistakes like dropping marks, missing goals, etc etc. need huge improvement in there.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't a push in the back after a kick result in a free kick down the ground instead of "advantage"? That would mean that Collingwood were denied a shot on goal in the last 30 seconds of the game. I get that we can't dwell on one decision, but it seems that the more umpires we have involved in the game, the more things they get wrong. One more whinge if i may, when Elliott took Mark of the Year, why did the broadcast director feel the need to change the camera angle mid-mark? Can't these broadcaster just keep a nice wide angle so we can see things clearly?

It only gets called like once a year, only time it has in recent memory it was last year to daicos and gave you guys the win against the crows. It's very much not a rule they enforce if it still is one (minus to daicos last year ofc)

Great game but once again some really poor performance defensive efforts from the Bombers and even from McKay who suprisingly didn't seem up for it that basically let the Magpies back into the match after Quarter time after such a comfortable lead. Ridley can't come back soon enough. Oh and one more thing, Laverde needs to be delisted at the end of the season. His decision making just continues to be absolutely shocking. Thoughts fellow Bombers fans?

I didn’t think our defence was that bad. Their biggest lead was only 7 points which is good for how great the pies are. Laverde should be dropped but we don’t have much depth. Lewis Hayes could debut next week against a lower level team.

@@Jawbone1807Kaine Baldwin is the one we need back for depth. I know he is out of contract at the end of this season and is injured for most of this season but I would much rather we give him an extra 2 years and take a chance on him than keeping Laverde beyond this season who I am sorry is basically North Melbourne or Hawthorn standard at this point.

Should have been 50 to Langford against Frampton. Frampton pushed Langford down after he took the mark and Frampton wasn't in the marking contest.

@Matt.FlagPies23the umps were crap and a few went both ways, they were awful though in a great game. Sadly for Bomber fans, a couple of rubbish calls led to Magpie goals like the McKay front on contact which was absurd, and Davey not getting a too high in Essendon’s forward line, while getting a clear handball away, then somehow unfathomable to anyone that’s ever played the game it’s a holding the ball free to Collingwood that goes from a should’ve been Davey shot on goal to a Pies goal at the opposite end.
