The AFP’s Tactical Response Team (TRT) is responsible for responding to emergency situations and has been involved in some of our most significant investigations, with team members on standby to deploy domestically and internationally. This new footage takes the public inside the secretive unit’s training.
TRT comprises specialist capabilities including marksmen, dynamic entry and roping, with members trained in weapons and tactics, marine operations, stability response, tactical technology and everything in between.
Candidates are selected from current AFP and PSO members who apply during special recruitment rounds. Successful members are then chosen after a 14-month training and selection process.
