Having a central bank is so easy Mr president. I'm a banker and a financier. As you said the only guarantee needed is the insurance and a clean accountability process. Simple as that. We've been invited in one of the african countries to make provision a viable money system. Once we brought the framework, they betrayed us for the french government company. It's very sad to try to create business in africa. So we returned back to the USA and the UK tobwork for the white man financial system again. Africans like to overcomplicate everything. Otherwise it's so easy especially the fact that the Government is involved and will guarantee the process. What is needed is a serious government, confident with a sound clean accountability and insurance in place. The insurance can come from chinese or any solid country sister company. Not from the west.

The bank should be owned by Indigenous Africans - solely. Africa should always be printing it's own currency, backed by commodities, like precious metals. The continent needs to mint/print it's own currency. Economics is war. And you are not a sovereign nation without military and economic leverage.

These are hard decisions that Africa must rally together to push through! We have so much wealth including Gold which is the standard used to measure global currencies. Why can’t we create our own reserves of Gold for that. We have many other precious metals, gemstones including diamonds, Tanzanite all this should go into measuring our currencies and giving it a value to be used in exchange. Experts can put their heads together and agree on the best currency to use.

In order to do this, Africa would have to develop a system superior to and better than trhe Swift system. Also, African would need stable currencies, investments in critical markets, etc. These politicians do not invest in their own people and widespread corruption constantly takes radical opportunities away. @arushanioshaka5600 They are all owned by Africans. It's only AFDB and maybe Afreximbank that has American and European shareholders. A gulf sovereign wealth fund is a shareholder of Ecobank but the rest its shares are owned by Africans. Access bank and UBA is wholy owned by Nigerians.
