I love the point on ROI for investment on the continent. Quarter by quarter returns vs generational returns is fundamental, from a value /impact perspective. Our mission in Africa is building value that lasts the for generations, and not just years.

I love this video as a young person I wanna invest in Africa but me getting access to the stock markets from Botswana is a pain in the ass even here as I am in Botswana I can't invest in my own country as a lower middle class person I can't afford that and I don't like brokers. As I stand my only investment in Africa is Airtel Africa through the London Stock Exchange, I get theirs Jumia in the USA and Angelo America which is owns DeBeers but they are not suitable investments to me. I can't tell u how long I Have had my eye on Shoprite in the JSE but I can't but it individually without expensive broker. I have seen Nigeria develop Bamboo an investment app but its focused on USA stocks and isn't in Botswana I have nothing against that but I already have access to US UK Europe markets where's the JSE.

The conversation was super interesting and gives hope about the future for Africa. Africa is capable and has always had the capability to dominate. Thought I was hearing incorrectly until I turned on the subtitles and Vusi was pronounced as "you see" or "uc" kinda like the V is silent. Like "virtual" is not "irtual". Would have been nice or appropriate for the lady to nice ask if they are pronouncing the name correctly. Otherwise it was an awesome conversation.

Great presentation by both Vusi and OJ. I'm glad to see discussions about taking Africa to the next level are being led by prolific persons as yourself. I feel like we had two discussions in this session. And in a way, both kind of complemented themselves. OJ, although he didn't point out a lot of specifics and may not have articulated his points as clearly as Vusi but acted as the constant voice to call on investors to come to africa. Given a broad view of why it is important. Vusi, on the other hand, put more flesh and provided specific reasons and points as to why Africa is the place and how to go about investing. The lady calling Africa a country should have done her research well. However, for me, it is an assignment/challenge given to us Africans to build our countries and continent to the level that nobody can mistaken our identity. Also, i think we also need to stop over emphasizing that Africa is made in different countries. For us to really develop, we need to consider africa as one nation. This is just my opinion. As such, i understand it won't be for everyone.

Vusi I just want to say I love you and it would be an honour for me to speak to you my brother.

My grandparents were farmers and I grew up in the rural area. In 2020 I was part of a group that tried to purchase a huge farm in the western cape. All we needed was an investor willing to invest 50 million in credit, not even in cash. I’m pro food security, education, capital funding but most importantly, mental development of African people. We are a rich continent and it’s clear. I used to want to leave and go live in first world countries. When I got educated on our wealth as a continent, there’s no way I’d skip a chance to build on the soil of my forefathers and heritage.

Transparency is the question… who can the investors trust? OC is enthusiastic and right about Africa being ready but too much emphasis sounds a bit desperate for investors to come because we are ready but hearing Kenya having one of the highest rates of corruption is not encouraging… trust and credibility VT you put it well… that’s the mentality we need to show has changed and transformation has taken place and Africans want to be transparent, effective and productive in business.

Vusi if we can be able to process our raw materials as far as mining is concerned and sell finished products to other international countries it is when we can win and grow our economy, as long as we sell raw material elsewhere cheaper with our low ZAR currency and buy it from countries with USD and GBP to mention the few with always high exchange rate we not gonna win this. So we need to process our own raw material until the final product then we can win and those high countries with high exchange rates then they can rise we won't care that can boost our profit then we can win. As things stand right now we are fighting a losing battle, the more the rand value rise we still gonna suffer it is where the secret lies. if we sell the product to them those countries will drop their currency I'm telling you because they will try to equalize our currencies so that they don't spend more Euros or Dollars and Pounds.
