On April 27th, 2019, I raced the ADV class at the Virginia City Grand Prix in Virginia City, NV. It's a very cool event with parts of the town used for some of the course. This was the first year for the ADV class. There were about 15 ADV racers. There was a decent mix of bikes: KTM 9X0s, 1X90s, Africa Twin, BMW GSs, Ducati Scambler, and Tiger 800s.

BRAMMOTO The pros and expert classes ran the day before. We were running with the “lower” classes.

@@razvan4553 if not already answered the rear tire of the bike hit the killswitch/starter it smashed at least the starter portion in, therfore he might of been able to bump start it to limp it home, but if at any point thereafter hed have to do it again..

@@CamelADV how did the bike feel in the race? Ive ridden a ktm 300 for a few years now and smaller bikes before that. I couldnt imaging ripping a 500+ lb 1000cc beast on trails like this, but does it “like” or “want” to take on this type of terrain? Like is it easy to ride or do you feel youre fighting it?

Kudos to you, you have some sick riding skills, in fact these are some of the best skills I've seen on an Africa Twin. You showed those rally bike riders how to ride a bike. Sorry it ended that way, you deserved a big win.

Finish or not... that was some great riding. They may be smaller bike's but the power difference is so noticeable, and you handle it well.

I am impressed with your riding....This is a dangerous course however...Too many fixed objects to cut you open, and rocks to break your leg....Glad you survived it..

Looks awesome, well done. I fitted my Camel ADV screen brace a couple of weeks ago (managed to drop a bolt into the headlight d'oh!) and the peg support yesterday. Both great, well designed and built products.

Yes i watched the tutorial, removed the ruber from the rear of the headlight and then on 1st attempt dropped the nut straight into the tiny gap. All good. Only took me another 20 minutes to remove the whole headlight assembly to tip it upside down and remove the nut haha. Great product though. I have mine loaded up with phone, gopro, gps quadlock and 2 ram mounts for over 4000ks on dirt and not an issue.

It was awesome seeing those v twins out there this year, I was following a twin up a hill the rider fell off his bike and I ran him over, he said he was ok but I felt pretty bad about it for most of the day, Nothing but respect for you guys out there on those monsters.

I shoot terabytes of video through the season, so I edit the video and delete the rest right away rather than fill external drives with footage I'll never use!

handled that AT like it was a 125! meanwhile some of those riders looked like it was the first time they had ever been on dirt! haha. crazy mishap with the switch though, the odds of everything lining up like that have to be 1 in a million

Loved watching you adv guys fly by (when I was stuck in various places 🤦‍♂️)! Could you not bump start the bike after breaking start switch? I DNF’ed due to kickstarter issue on my bomber and too many times killing bike with only uphills around me, ha.

The big bikes are a bitch to bump start, especially on loose terrain like that. Even if I had managed to start it, I wouldn't have continued racing as the odds of stalling later with no bump start hill was high.
