Thank you for doing what the American media fails to do, the beauty of South Africa my country and the rest of the continent...I have heard some black people born in the US say that we live with animals on the streets, that we don't have technology or beautiful infrastructure...all because the US media shows only the bad side...which it's strange because every country has it's bad side including America.

With all the Kenyans in the comments, I'm a jump in and speak as a repat to continent, Nairobi is now our home. However, we love SA. Joburg has higher quality housing at better pricing versus Nairobi. As someone from the Caribbean who spent most of his life in the States with a wife from the southern US, we found that the food where ever we went in SA, was much much more to our liking and closer to what we're used to. Also, tech is cheaper in SA. It's an easier transition spot for someone coming from the west or global north. However, for my wife and I, Nairobi grabbed our hearts. It's not always about which country or city has better this or that. The question is: to where are you being called. What's the place that aligns with your purpose? Where do you belong? People call us Kenyans now. Tunashukuru kwamba Kenya ni nyumbani kwetu. We are grateful that Kenya is now our home. And now Kenyans and South Africans can fly back and forth between countries visa free. We can enjoy the best each other has to offer.

Dont get too excited about these people. The thing us they don't really have money. Most of them that come to Africa are uneducated. When tbings get tough or they have a opened experience they start badmouthing the coy try and the people, then they hop to another country where they continue to badmouth the previous country and say all the praises about the new country but that does not last long as they soon will badmouth the new host coy try and it's people. They do t bring anything to Africa but they seem to thing they need to teach Africans. I have seen some that have been to Tanzania, Ghana and Rwanda and they trashed all those countries whist they themselves have nothing to offer.

@@mabhodlelajj1195 I am also in the USA and I will say once you leave South Africa you suddenly realize how advanced SA is. For one, the banking system in SA further ahead. You have to remember that the West is good in PR; they promote the productive side thus when you are in South Africa you start believing that everything in the Western world is perfect. Once you start living in the West you come to the realization it is an imperfect world in its own way. So yes there are aspects in South Africa that are far advanced than in the USA.

Thank you for giving Joburg a chance and appreciating its beauty! If you are still here, you should look into doing a walking tour of Soweto or the inner-city to get an appreciation for the history of the city and the country as a whole. There are some culinary tours you can do that can take you to places like Fordsburg where you will get the best Indian food :) Joburg loves its malls - Rosebank mall is great for good food and a bit more of an outdoor experience. And the green spaces are great especially on a sunny day, such as Zoo Lake (Goiya is a great kid friendly restaurant with a fantastic play area), Emmarentia Park, Delta Park, etc. Linden and Parkhurst are nice nice areas for good restaurants and boutique shopping. Enjoy it and the rest of the country! We have so much to offer - beaches, mountains, safari (or ‘the bush’ as we call it), forests and great cities full of great people!

I am so Happy to see you coming down south, I've been watching your videos and the issues you experienced in TZ etc , SA is the easiest transition for African American, simply because it's so familiar with the infrastructure, and you will notice the SA vibe is on another level, you will notice the people actually lovr you and they don't take advantage of you by raising prices of goods because you are a foreigner, everybody is treated equally, SA is too big and everywhere you go you will get the same thing you want even in deep areas. Not quite true about different prices for foreigners. Hotels and rest camps plus entrance fees for the National Parks all charge foreigners more. The rest camps and National Parks are all owned/controlled by the government but will take advantage of tourists. Large hotels, particularly in Cape Town, have two tariffs, one for residents and the other for tourists. Even the taxi drivers have two printed fares' lists. Uber do not charge more as they have no way of knowing if you are a resident or not. Don't just reply on Uber, in Johannesburg we have at least 2 additional companies similar to Uber. Go and Bolt. I just did a price check and found that for the same trip Go was R50 and Bolt was R113 but Uber did no even quote. FYI the Black luxury you describe are listed as XL in Jo'burg

@abdulkayira5559 Жыл бұрын
@Rob Golding those entities work the same way around the world, but I am talking about going to your normal shopping or buying goods on street's and markets, the price is the same to anyone but most other African countries once they heat you are a foreigner they will change the price, which is not good, imagine someone change the price or apples simply because you he or she noticed that you are a foreigner, those things don't happen in SA besides these tourists attractions which is standard allover the world, right now I'm in the carribean for the past 6 months touring different ilands but they charge tourists prices in those places you talked about.
@Robob0027
@Robob0027 Жыл бұрын
@@abdulkayira5559 Tourists do not go "normal" shopping. Although I am a South African I have a strong British accent (dual nationality) and can assure you that it happens very often in SA that upon hearing my accent they will try to sell me something at three times the normal price. If you are in the Caribbean then yes, they are well known for ripping off tourists. In Thailand during the Sars epidemic (I don't mean the SA revenue service, but the illness) some hotels there tried to up their rates but the Thai government stopped them from doing so. I have long pointed out to whoever in government would listen, that if you allow people in the tourist industry to increase their rates for tourists to Caribbean rates levels they will instead choose Thailand or similar low priced destinations. I have never understood why, other than greed, a hotel is happy with ZAR3000 per night for a room from a resident but wants ZAR5000 from a foreigner. We need tourists in South Africa and we can profit from the drop in value of the Rand which now makes us more competitive against other destinations. FYI I am a retired travel industry executive and have visited over 65 countries.
@abdulkayira5559
@abdulkayira5559 Жыл бұрын
@Rob Golding the carribean is a scam, if you see the facilities in places in hotels and lodges, you just feel robbed, i don't just go to resorts and leave , i stay for a month or two each iland and rent holiday apartment and get to know the country and the people and the real lifestyle, but carribean is overrated, cost of living is way too expensive to the locals

@@mosesptallah3933 stop peddling lies here. If you are a foreigner you must enter the country legally and respect the laws of this county. Unfortunately some of our African brothers and sisters enter SA illegally while some come to our country to commit crime. Our SA government recently had a presentation to all African ambassadors in SA about crimes committed by our fellow African brothers and sisters in SA. Those stats are alarming and shocking and a lot of the African ambassadors hanged their heads in shame about the behaviour of their citizens in SA. When South Africans speak out against these foreigners they are being called xenophobic. SA has a population of 60million indigenous people and then we have 15million illegal foreigners from all over Africa, and the rest of the world. Why are there so many illegal foreigners if SA was xenophobic? Why are so many foreigners (legal and illegal) still flocking to SA if we are xenophobic. Xenophobia has been a term used by foreigners and the media to silence South Africans from speaking out against illegal foreigners and crimes committed by foreigners. If we as South Africans are being called xenophobic because we are against foreigners who enter our country illegally, foreigners who don't respect the laws of our country, foreigners who come to South Africa to commit crime, foreigners who abuse the hospitality we extend to them, then you are welcome to call us xenophobic. South Africans are tired of crime and people who disrespect and undermine the rule of law.

@@mosesptallah3933 My brother trust me the majority of us South Afrikans are definitely not xenophobic and we have absolutely no problem with fellow Afrikans who are our brothers and sisters anyway. We have fellow Afrikans who enter the country illegally and engage in criminal activities and the media takes advantage of that and sensationalizes it because that’s what sells. With the socioeconomic situation in the country and the high unemployment rate, our people are easily impressionable and believe stupid things like outsiders are taking our jobs. It is your duty to educate others instead of spreading hate. We’re not special but neither are you so let’s learn to live together as fellow Afrikans. Whites will always protect their fellow whites irrespective of which country they come from.
