African Farming

Күн бұрын

In 2002, farming veteran Abel Naphtaly found his way back to agriculture by accident while searching for a slaughter ox when his successful security company celebrated 10 years in business. The purchase not only renewed his love of farming, it also sparked a new flame - he has since developed a passion for the Santa Gertrudis cattle breed. He shared his story with Lindiwe Sithole.

Why is it that a farmer is labeled as an emerging farmer just for being black? I am yet to see a white farmer that is called an emerging farmer! They are either called commercial or stud breeders. We need to shy away from belittling black farmers and appreciate thise who are working hard on their land. This program has allowed us to see alot of black farmers who are actually doing well. There are still some who wait by the sidelines and collect rent from their farms or wait for government grants before they could even move. Loving this program. Please include questions like the annual rain fall and number of days for a breeding season and type of grazing system etc Even those feed recipes could provide great knowledge

Its self inflicted narrative When Clay fought Liston they called it Heavy Weight Championship of the WORLD, 'OF THE WORLD' The fact is that bout didn't have anything to do with the world boxing match, We have a lot of such instances where we just agree to what is aired to us, Its better to vest in any narrative which its going to boost your image status and financial advantage by grabbing powerful lines, As the bout between Ali and Liston, I am sorry but its utterly stupid to expect adversaries to honour you with advantageous yet advertising lines which will end up complicating trade status and illusion of perfection down the line for them.

keep it coming African farming but with all due respect I feel like the presenters are asking irrelevant questions, the first question must be, how, when and where did the farmers acquire the land. and lastly at the end of the episode, provide us young people with information on how we can get the land please African, you guys are doing a good job .

Yes I fully agree. Ntate Abel has over a 1000 hectares of land and that’s massive for a black person. Even getting a hectare is proving to be challenging for me. Having such information as to how he acquired his land would be helpful

He had a big company before. This is where he got the money to set up his operation. So, if land is expensive where, maybe start very small. People have started with 2 pigs in their backyard, for example. Everyones situation is different.
