Because if you are a small, developing country like Cameroon or Ghana, the attendance or non-attendance of your leader could be the difference between a generous billion dollar investment in your power plant upgrades or none, leading to power cuts. To be honest if these people are corrupt or have a history of being corrupt They do not warrant respect. They need to put their foot down and oppose everything that's not in their best interest and the best interest of their people. United States as evil as they may be fought for independence from Britain and that warranted respect. If I were one of them I would not have gotten in that bus and if we weren't treated with dignity I would have not attended her funeral. She's the same person who has your national treasures stored away in vaults and continue to disadvantage your countries.

Italy, unlike France or other former colonizing countries, has given more than it has taken. Almost every day the Italian coast guard saves African migrants who flee from their countries, also due to corrupt governments that have never thought of the good of their citizens.
