Black Horse, I agree with you that many traditions have the same idea as Nun. They simply call it a different name. I don't know of any sources that are going to speak specifically about Nun. One of my favorites is R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz and Sacred Science. I have heard the earlier Nile valley culture alluded to often but not much on the spiritual aspects of that culture.

Actually the Greek Gnostics were students of the ancient Egyptians. Christianity through it's connection with the Gnostics took many ancient Egyptian ideas into Christianity from the Gnostics. Check Herodotus "Histories II," for a primary source on the Greek and Egyptian connection. Also Plutarch and Diodorus of Sicily. All Hellenistic scholars that connect Greece ( western civilization) and Egypt.

When you consider Alexandria was in Africa and that Africa was Greece's main go-to for knowledge it's obvious they depended on a lot of the theological genius of Africans. The knowledge of Kemet that evolved into ancient Egypt had a belief that all of creation emanated from sound or as we say today vibration. It is in error to think they believed in a deity as the Greeks and later Christians believed. Ra said I am the eternal...I am the Word...I created the Word. Since the creator is not human and does not speak, "the Word" becomes a metaphor. In order to produce a word vocal cords must vibrate. Vibration is the source of all creation. All is vibration. Not a human-like deity.

The Codex Sinaiticus which is the first to contain the books that are the modern day new testament and old testament together was compiled and edited in Alexandria, Egypt around the 5th century CE.
