And to the person who just said "good genetic code", part of "good genetic code" is intelligence, which is a highly heritable trait. So it's important for the parent to be smart.

Most of the time it comes from French, and the pronunciation is not the same. It's not Daddy as in father it's something else. Usually the ending is ie, but due to the influence of English, people write it as Daddy.
